Potty Game: Five Words (Vol. XIV)

Post  Potteraholic on Sat Feb 19, 2011 6:51 pm

Goodbye World Crossing, hello hplf.forumotion.com! Smile

Welcome to Potty Five Words, Volume XIV! This is a game invented by the Potties, first played in October 2005 on the Harry Potter Lexicon FanFiction Forum on World Crossing. It resided there for 5 years and 12 volumes/threads, then moved over to the Harry Potter Lexicon Forum in July 2010; some Forum members wondered if it could be played on the Main Forum, along with all the other wonderful Potty Games so many of us enjoyed. So, with Kip's approval... the move was made!

Speaking of moves, let's hope this one to hplf.forumotion.com goes without a hitch. So far, so good! Smile

Now... back to the game!

The rules of this game are simple: place five words in your post that continue the story told through other members' five words. Strung together, the five words will make a much, much longer story. (You might add another much to that list if some people decide to go on a posting spree, which has been done in the past. )

If you're new to Five Words, or even if you've been playing since since the beginning, take a look at some suggestions Finn (the creator of the Five Words thread on the Harry Potter Lexicon Forum), made at the conclusion of Volume V.

We ask that you please post your five words in bold format. This will help distinguish your addition to the story from other side comments you might make in your post, and help the story posters when they compile the story at the end. The way to do this is by:

— typing a [*b] (no *) in front of the text you want in bold then [/b] after it to unbold anything else you might post.

Enjoy! Smile

You're welcome, Verity. I wish it could say it appeared here magically, but magic had nothing to do with it. I appreciate you mentioning it.

I like the feature on this forum to watch threads for replies. It's really handy for the Five Words thread. Now the forum will send me an email when there's been a new post.

I'm thinking ahead here, when it comes to future archiving of stories... since there's a handy 'post title' option here, why not use it? I've changed most of the post titles of the posts so far, but wonder if folks could just take a few seconds to do this when you post. Thanks, again. (And thanks, Verity.)
