This is a work-in-progress. As it is an archive, and not a discussion thread, it will be a locked topic.

 * 20 Questions Archive *
This topic serves as an archives of a thread from the Harry Potter Lexicon Forum as hosted on World Crossing which ceased operation on April 15, 2011. This Archive of 20 Questions games was reposted from March 26, 2011 to April 23, 2011. In the original 20 Questions Archives, there were links to the actual games posted on World Crossing. Therefore, each game had to be reposted here in an individual, separate post, and not grouped together in bulk posts. I have tried to keep most of the formatting of each game's text the same, using colors, bold, italics, underline, and enlarged or reduced font sizes when possible. No smilies were archived, and hopefully, the absence of them does not affect a reader's understanding or enjoyment of the games. ~ Potteraholic, April 23, 2011

Hi, everyone! For a wee while, I've been thinking that it would be good to have an archive of past '20 Questions' games, so that folks could check to see if a particular mystery answer had been used or not. So, for the past week, I've been putting an archive together, going back to the first volume of the '20 Questions' games. I've finished looking through that thread, and there were nearly 80 games played there! And out of those nearly 80 games, only 1 item — the watch Harry received from the Weasley's on his 17th birthday — was repeated. Just 1 out of 80, an excellent result! Smile

Archived games are grouped in sets of 10, 5 sets to a page. (Ten is not a very HP-esque number, I know, but it's a great number to use for organizing things in the Muggle world.)

After a few questions were asked, the game wasn't played for a bit, and then was restarted here. Rather than start another Archives thread for the answers to its games, I've just decided to make another section for it here.

Rather than start another Archives thread for the answers to its games, I've just decided to make another section for listing a record of the completed games here.

18. Is it one of the portraits in Dumbledore's office? Yes.
19. Is it the portrait of Dilys Derwent? No.
20. Is it the portrait of Phineas Nigellus? YES!!!
Congratulations, Dryleaves! It is your turn now!

Just to share my doubts with you all: Do you agree that a portrait, though it contains a speaking and moving (thinking?) image of a person, is technically also frame and canvas and paint and background and because of that it is a thing rather than a person?

And... Orion's "chair question" was fun but it was a bit difficult to answer. Perhaps it is not totally impossible to sit on a painting without destroying it (perhaps Dobby could do it ) but I thought the canvas would be likely to get torn in most cases.

Dryleaves, I look forward to your puzzle now.
