We still haven't gotten any confirmation from the sysops team at World Crossing regarding whether or not the poll function will be brought back, so this is how the polls will work for the time being:

1) A Host will start a poll in a thread with the first post containing the poll question and all possible answers, as well as a general date the poll will be closed to further votes. Members are then free to vote on and discuss the poll. These polls will be taken from member suggestions.

2) After the predesignated time has expired the thread will be closed to further posts, the poll tallied, and the results posted by the Host who started the poll. The thread title will reflect that the poll has been closed.

3) A new poll in a new thread will be opened.

4) After enough polls are closed, some will be moved to the Vote Archive folder to make it easier to view which posts are still open to voting by reducing clutter.

NOTE: Members are free to change their votes as long as they:
A) do so before the poll closes
B) clearly state what they are changing their vote from and what they are changing it to.

The poll function has been turned off by World Crossing. I'm not sure when or if we will get the poll function back, but I'm hopeful this will mimic the function that World Cross previously provided us as it seemed to work in a very effective manner.
