Which witch would you choose to be your companion if you were to be stranded on a deserted island? Please tell your top 3 choices.

1) Hermione Granger...the brightest witch of her age

2) Ginny Weasley...spunky, a good flyer, determined and persistent

3) Luna Lovegood....as Ron would say, "always good value"

4) Cho Chang....well, she was loyal to her friend Marietta

5) Molly Weasley....she'll cook dinner

6) Nymphadora Tonks....dinner and a show

7) Padma and/or Pavarti Patil....one is smart and the other is brave

8 ) Pansy Parkinson....she'd be cunning as you both tried to survive...is that a good thing?

Edited to add the beginnining and ending dates for this poll in the title, for uniformity's sake.

I think you would be best with

3) Luna (you would always be entertained)

2) Ginny because she would make things between her Mum and Luna ok

5) Molly

Verity Weasley - Mar 29, 2009 4:49 am (#3 of 24)

I think I'd have to choose

1) Hermione

2) Luna

3) Tonks

2) Ginny Weasley...spunky, a good flyer, determined and persistent

Ginny is also cherry and optimistic....she'd make a good, lone-companion.

3) Luna Lovegood....as Ron would say, "always good value"

Luna and I would get along fine....she'd be amusing to listen to, and --due to being in Ravenclaw-- I think she'd be pretty informed about poisonous plants, healing spells, etc. Also, she makes very few demands upon her companions....being alone with her would be "a day at the beach"!

6) Nymphadora Tonks....dinner and a show

Great at defense and a happy-go-lucky personality....where can I book my sinking ship?!

1. Tonks - an auror so she must be resourceful!
2. Luna - she'd probably notice something no one else did.
3. Ginny - because I don't want to be stuck on the island with any of the others! The lesser of the evils.

Potteraholic - Mar 29, 2009 11:52 am (#10 of 24)

Molly (older and wiser and ferocious when angry), Hermione (smart) and Luna (a team player and smarter than she acts).

Molly, Tonks and Luna.

Actually, I'd probably choose Hermione, Molly and a choice you didn't offer--Professor McGonagall. If she isn't an option, then ... Luna. She's always good for a laugh!

Thom Matheson - Mar 29, 2009 5:32 pm (#14 of 24)

Luna, Ginny and Tonks.

me and my shadow 813 - Mar 29, 2009 10:48 pm (#15 of 24)

1) Hermione - we could teach each other a thing or two

3) Luna - same as above

5) Molly - when she's not busy keeping her family in line, she's probably very interesting, funny, and great to talk with

- - - - - - - - - -
Mrs Brisbee - Mar 30, 2009 5:20 am (#16 of 24)

1) Hermione Granger...if there was a way to get unstranded, she would know how to do it.

3) Luna Lovegood...as long as I'm stuck here, might as well have good company

7) Padma and Pavarti Patil...three people might be more interesting and innovative than just two.

I am wondering how Molly made the list; isn't she a little ... old?
And, of course, we do need a not on Gilligan's Island (Part 3) poll for mature wizards & witches.
How could you not let us vote for Snape? That was just cruel!

Well then,
Molly, Luna, and Hemoine.

Hermione for brains Tonks because she is resourceful Molly because she is practical.

Thanks for doing the Poll again Freshwater.

As in the past, this poll will run for two weeks, ending Sunday, April 12. But one (or two) new polls will start this week --and run for 2 weeks-- so hopefully we will have a new poll each week. At least, that's the plan!

While cruising the archives of the Votes thread I came across a poll that had been closed but not tallied. Kip gave me permission to tally it up, so....check out the "Rank the Seven Books" thread to see the results.

Thanks for the poll results, freshwater. Not surprised that folks didn't choose Cho or Pansy.

While looking at the results, I forgot who my 3rd choice was and had to go check. I was hoping I'd chosen Ginny, but no, I'd decided to choose Molly instead. Oh well, at least there'd be a Weasley there!

Clearly, most of the posts contained some combination of Luna/Hermione/Molly/Tonks. But I was still surprised to see Luna come out on top, even over Hermione's genius, although by a small margin....I sense another poll coming: How did your perception/appreciation of Luna change from books 5 through 7? Now all I need is a list of likely responses......
