I have a lot of catching up to do! Update coming up soon! And I have to check when the Five Words anniversary date is, the 9th or the 10th.

Fees negotiable. References furnished upon

It's great to be back, Verity and Julia!

I've posted an update of all these 13 ads here. The 6 year anniversary story is set to start 9 10 days from now, on December 9th. I will need a window of 2 days to get this official story and stats posted. So, that leaves us 7 days of writing left for this story, or a new and very short one. I suggest that we write 1 or 2 more ads in that time for this story, since starting and completing a story seems like a very big and improbable task.

Verity, you have posted the most, so please start thinking of a story idea for our 6 year, five words anniversary celebration.

SPECIAL EVENT! SAVE THE DATE!

lol! Nope, no pressure at all, Verity!

I've been wondering how to make this anniversary story different than others, regarding the word count, I mean. We've had 7, 10, 12, and 15 word stories to celebrate other years, so what else can we do? Repeat one of these other numbers? Try a new one, like 6 or 9 or 11? Or maybe we try 3 words at a time? Any and all suggestions would be welcome. Thanks!

Also, I have to say, I am really enjoying these ads immensely. All the content, the names — Hexagon Jones is so sounding — and the part about free lifetime supply of mucus made me literally laugh out loud! Why? Because when brewing potions in Pottermore, the highest point potion uses flobberworm mucus, and you only get 8 portions per galleon, so it is a hot commodity and lots of people try to trade for it in the Ravenclaw common room, ot just ask for outright gifts! Simply put, if any serious brewer in Pottermore got a lifetime supply of mucus from someone, he or she would be that person's best friend for life!

If this is our sixth anniversary coming up, then maybe 6 words at a time would be appropriate. I don't know, maybe we could write a story featuring six characters or featuring the number 6 in some other way.

Magic's Annual Winter Fete will

December 22nd is the Winter Solstice and then there's Christmas on the 25th, so for the 10th, just went with the non-specific 'Winter'.

Verity, thanks for the ideas! I like the idea of 6 words and 6 characters. Looking forward to what others think as well

PAH and Verity, I really like the idea of six words and six characters. Will we decide on the six characters in advance or will they be introduced during the story as always?

Do we really need the word annual twice in this sentence?

I think it might be fun to somehow select six characters and then try to weave them into a story. I'm not sure how we could select them though. Maybe we could each post a character name in turn, in a spoiler box, and everyone agrees not to look until we have six. Then we can reveal the selection. If some have been repeated, we can repeat the process until we have six.

crafts, gifts, games, readings, and other

Annual Ministry of Magic's Annual Winter Fete will be held in the Atrium of the Ministry from 10...

Oops! Nope, we don't need 'annual' twice in that sentence, especially since 'Ministry' has to be there twice. So I used 6 words to balance us out.

Okay, then 2 votes carry the motion! 6 words and 6 characters, with the characters to be chosen in advance, using the spoiler box idea Verity suggested. (Let's title each character suggestion with a #, so we know when we have 6 to consider and add to if there are repeats.) Looking forward to this next story!

I'll begin.

Character Suggestion #1
Spoiler:
Ron Weasley so we can be sure there are funny lines to write. Ron has such a wicked sense of humor!

Ooh, it was so tempting to look at the spoiler box, but I swear I didn't peek. It will be interesting to see if we nominate any of the same characters.

Luna Lovegood

Flying Wallendas, an amazing Muggle

Thinking that wizardkind was more open to some more interaction with Muggles in 2011, and also, if you know anything about The Flying Wallendas, then you are as convinced as I am that there must be some magical blood in them.

Okay, since there have only been 6 people who have participated in this game, and 2 are traveling/or just passing through (Mona and azi), I am making another Character Suggestion, so we have the required 6. Verity, I encourage you to do the same, then maybe Julia and BB can suggest #s 5 and 6, respectively. And then it's the BIG REVEAL!

Character Suggestion #3
Spoiler:
Ginny Weasley because even when she makes an appearance in our stories, she rarely gets to say much, and I LOVE book-Ginny's spirt and pluck!

Argh, I had a nice line and Julia beat me to it. Oh well, I hope you all like this idea.

Since I was mentioned, I thought I'd go ahead and throw out a character name

Character suggestion #5
Spoiler:
How about Hedwig? I chose her instead of Crookshanks since the name has 6 characters.

ETA: Fireworks won't work well in mid-afternoon, so maybe they'd use an eclipse charm to overcome the issue?

It's an indoor fete so maybe they are indoor fireworks.

That was fast! I didn't think we'd get our six characters so quickly. Now that we have all six, I'm going to have a peek.

Character Suggestion #6

Spoiler:
Gilderoy Lockhart

Edit: Can you believe it? Not a single double up! I won't spoil the surprise for you.
