So now, we arrive at the middle part of our story. We should start thinking about wrapping up no later than 10 posts left, to give us plenty of time to reach our goal without going over or under.

Verity, I was thinking that we might have a tie for the most number of posts. So far, it's even steven.

Just thinking ahead to the end, I suppose it could be when our protagonist sees the doors to the castle, and is standing right in front of them. Or right before he or she enters the Great Hall? Or some other equally momentous first.

I was thinking the same sort of thing as an ending PAH. The first view of the castle, or arriving at the front doors, would be a suitable conclusion.

Will we need to briefly explain how he/she knew Hagrid's name? Or leave it to the reader's imagination?

Leave it to the reader's imagination, I should think. Hagrid could've easily introduced himself on the walk down to the lake, or another child, a young Potter or Weasley, could've greeted Hagrid warmly on the platform.

Can the castle be seen from the lake? Move contamination tells me yes, but I don't have the books with me to check.

The castle can be seen from the lake, but not immediately. If I remember rightly, they get a glimpse of the castle about half way through their journey across the lake.

Okay, view of the castle seen halfway sounds familiar to me, too.

I made the shore very slippery, so that the reader could infer that it was very wet. So the rest of the story is the boat journey and then we end in front of the castle's doors? In the Great Hall? On the Sorting Hat's stool? I wonder what it will be?

So far, there are 2 post-story comments for the Felix Felicis story. It would be nice to have more.

Nor I, Verity. But someone could always come along and surprise us! Unlikely, but still possible!

Maybe this first-year meets the same fate as Dennis Creevey, while crossing the lake? Or something else altogether? We have 6 posts/30 words left in this lake section before we start heading for the conclusion.
