Tomoé - Feb 25, 2004 11:51 am (#1 of 308)

What kind of even is it? a convention of Harry Potter's fans ? a GT (Get Together) of this forum?

Where in Pennsylvania? In a park, a hotel? How much to participate, is it free?

Can you give some details, please?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

tracie1976 - Feb 25, 2004 12:01 pm (#2 of 308)

It’s a get-together for people in the forum. It is in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania. boop has reserved a pavilion at a park there. There are hotels and campsites around there. Saturday's food will be provided. boop is working on a list of hotels around there. I'm looking at campsites so if anyone is interested in those I'll be glad to post them. We are also planning on invading a movie theater to see the movie. I think I've mentioned everything we've discussed in the chat room, if not boop will correct me lol.

Tomoé - Feb 25, 2004 12:52 pm (#3 of 308)

I should use the chatroom more often then. ^_^

Thanks tracie.

I just copied the original info about the gathering originally posted by boop to this thread as to get everybody updated here. (See two posts below with out-of-sequence post numbers.) The original posts were left at the chat thread as not to leave unreferenced remarks on those there.

boop - Feb 24, 2004 9:38 am (#2695 of 2747) Hello Everyone! Here is another update to the forum gathering this summer:

The weekend of June 4th is it. On Saturday June 5th: I have reserved a Pavilion at Governors Park. The Park is in Bellefonte which is about 15 minutes away from State College.

At the park there is a swimming pool, basketball court, and a playground.

I will draw up a map and give directions on how to find it. There will be signs Placed that say Harry Potter so everyone will know what to look for. I will also add landmarks to the map to help make sure you are going the right way...

The time is anywhere from 10am to until whenever.

Food and Drinks will be provided. So please try and make plans to attend. It will be lots of fun for everyone.

If anyone will need a ride from the bus station or train station or airport I will gladly help them out.

I will also give information on Hotels and Motels in the area.

P.S. More details to follow, thank you

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

boop - Feb 24, 2004 11:02 am (#2704 of 2747) Thanks Everyone: I'm ready very excited I just can't wait.

Tracie; I'm sorry I did forget about camping. There is a campground nearby and I think it is a KOA campground. I'm really glad you are planning making a weekend out of it. That means more time to spend together!

Fidelio: No there is no cost to the park. That was a very good question to ask, so thanks for asking! Also thanks for the information on pancakes and lent.

Fawkes: I wish you and everyone who lives outside the States could come. We will take lots of pictures and they will be posted for everyone who can't attend to see.

Julia: We have hotels & motels at all prices. I know we will find one that you can afford. I promise.Smile

Detail Seeker - Feb 25, 2004 1:06 pm (#5 of 308)

A pity, that crossing the Atlantic River will probably take longer than the meeting itself. By the way: which international airport is around that location? Pittsburgh?

But perhaps, someone from Europe finds the time to organize an analogue in reachable distance for us...

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Karla Labanda - Feb 25, 2004 1:08 pm (#6 of 308)

You are very lucky. I have to wait that PoA arrives to my country.

Enjoy it a lot.

Julia. - Feb 27, 2004 2:09 pm (#8 of 308)

boop, I've just been looking up train schedules, and they won't let me come home on the 5th, so I'll have to stay until the 6th. Also, they won't let me go into Altoona at a decent hour, so it looks like I'm comming into Harisburg.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Blast - Feb 27, 2004 9:46 pm (#9 of 308)

Julia we'll dub it the Hogwarts Express if there are people in certain areas they might look at going as a group.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

boop - Feb 28, 2004 10:25 am (#10 of 308)

Julia, That will be fine I can pick you up at the train station in Harrisburg, Well that won't be bad to stay until the 6th, that will give us more time together, as Brandon and Tracie will also be in town on the 6th.Smile

boop - Mar 1, 2004 7:01 am (#12 of 308)

Sarah, the street that the park is on is called Governors Park Rd.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

tracie1976 - Mar 2, 2004 9:21 am (#13 of 308)

I have a question!!! hehehe Is there going to be music? I can bring a radio and everyone can bring cds of their choice.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Flame Alligator - Mar 2, 2004 9:31 am (#14 of 308)

boop, what is the name of the park?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

boop - Mar 2, 2004 9:55 am (#15 of 308)

Tracie, I am bringing my radio/cd player so there will be music, and I am also bringing my British cds of the books.

Flame, The name of the park is call Governors Park, it is off Rt 550, west out of Bellefonte, you have to turn onto Airport Road, then there is a “y” in the road less than a mile and you go onto Governors Park Road, which will take you straight into the park.

I will put a map up soon of Bellefonte and show the way to the park.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

boop - Mar 4, 2004 10:30 am (#16 of 308)

scully jones - Mar 4, 2004 6:32 pm (#17 of 308)

YYAAAAYYY!!! I will tell him definitely! I'm so happy.... I'm actually coming! Before it was just something everybody else does... This'll be the first thing of this magnitude I've ever tried to accomplish!!!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Julia. - Mar 4, 2004 7:34 pm (#18 of 308)

Congrats Sarah. Can't wait to see you

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Pigwidgeon - Mar 4, 2004 9:05 pm (#19 of 308)

# crosses fingers* I can't guarantee anything, but seeing as how I live next door in Ohio, I'm going to try to make it, too! If that's Ok.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

boop - Mar 5, 2004 3:13 am (#20 of 308)

Pidwidgeon, Great we would love to have you come and join the fun. I know I'm looking forward to meeting as many forum members that came come. I think everyone will have a great day of fun. Some are coming in for the whole weekend.

Everyone one is Welcome to join the fun, if you know you can come just let me know. I am making a list of names, so I will know about how much food to prepare for. I know it’s still early so don't worry if you don't know just yet, that ok.

Thanks Everyone, Boop

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

MoaningMyrtle101 - Mar 5, 2004 9:41 pm (#21 of 308)

Put me on your list of names, Boop! I'm coming and staying until June 6th. I can't wait to meet everyone!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

The Great Abbycadabra - Mar 6, 2004 12:45 am (#22 of 308)

I believe I'll be astral projecting to this get-together, so I won't be needing any food. I'd love to be able to attend, but I just don't think I'll be able to.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

boop - Mar 6, 2004 3:09 am (#23 of 308)

Emily, I'm so happy to hear you will be there. I look forward to meeting you in person.

Abby, darn and I was going to ask you to perform some magic tricks too. I'm sorry you will not be able to come, but put this on your to do list for next year.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Lady Kazuma - Mar 7, 2004 11:40 am (#24 of 308)

I only live about an hour and half away from that park... *cheers*

Erm, I don't post here very often, but I'm always here reading, and I'd love to join in. (if my mom lets me...)

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Blast - Mar 7, 2004 2:20 pm (#25 of 308)

Lady Kazuma, bring her along too.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

The Great Abbycadabra - Mar 8, 2004 2:55 am (#26 of 308)

Look at it this way, Boop, I've done the ultimate magic trick: I'm invisible! Just everyone please watch where you put your elbows. That can be painful.

I'll definitely shoot for next time, unless some last minute miracle allows me to come this year. Only time will tell, I'm afraid.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Viola Intonada - Mar 8, 2004 7:59 pm (#27 of 308)

Boop, I think I might be able to come. How close is the nearest airport? As in general aviation size (small planes).

Oh Abby, please try to come! Please, please please.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

boop - Mar 9, 2004 4:21 am (#28 of 308)

Viola, wow I am so excited that you are coming I haven't talked to you in the chat room for a very long time. There is an airport in State College called University Park, and then the next nearest one is Harrisburg. If you need transportation to and from the airport I will gladly help.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Thom Matheson - Mar 9, 2004 11:29 am (#29 of 308)

Boop, Set another place at the table.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

tracie1976 - Mar 9, 2004 11:34 am (#30 of 308)

Seeing more people saying that they are coming is making me so excited. I just can't wait.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Julia. - Mar 9, 2004 12:10 pm (#31 of 308)

Mum and Dad don't like it, but I'm coming anyway! The guest list is growing, I'm so excited!!!!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Emily - Mar 9, 2004 4:37 pm (#32 of 308)

# huge sigh* Ooh, I can't go! I'll be on a trip that's been planned all year. I'd skip the other trip, of course (my real life is both boring and unimportant), but seeing as I'm a minor, I really don't have any say. Oh well, I'll be with you in spirit!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Lady Kazuma - Mar 9, 2004 5:44 pm (#33 of 308)

Lol - I don't think my mom would be very interested. She already thinks I'm insane and obsessed. (Not that I deny it, or anything...)

Urg...I still haven't asked for permission. I've never gone out to do anything before. I always stay home. I don't know how to ask.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

boop - Mar 11, 2004 4:47 am (#34 of 308)

Emily, sorry to hear you won't be able to make it. Like you said you will be there in spirit. Maybe next year you can plan to attend.

Lady kazuma, Just ask your parents, tell them where and when, if they have any questions, have them e-mail me at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. I would also talk on the phone if they would prefer that. Just let me know if I can help in any way.... make sure you tell them that there will be people of all ages there.

Thanks Betty

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Viola Intonada - Mar 11, 2004 10:57 pm (#35 of 308)

Thanks, Boop! Yeah, I don't make it into the chat room very often anymore. I'm not putting an absolute positive yet, but it looks like I will be attending along with my husband and two children. I'm so excited!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

scully jones - Mar 12, 2004 8:43 am (#36 of 308)

YAYyyyyyyyyy Viola!!!!!

I'm getting so excited hearing every time someone says they can come. For so long I never thought I'd be able to. YAY!!!!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

septentrion - Mar 12, 2004 1:53 pm (#37 of 308)

the Atlantic seems huger all of a sudden

Well Detail Seeker, your idea is worth a thought...

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

The Great Abbycadabra - Mar 12, 2004 11:21 pm (#38 of 308)

Aww, Viola! Don't make me feel bad! I'll try as much as I can, but I'm incredibly poor. Good to know I'm wanted, though.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

boop - Mar 13, 2004 6:03 am (#39 of 308)

Viola, I will keep my fingers cross that you and your family will be coming!!!

Septentrion, I wish everyone from all over could make it, but I understand that being on the other side of the ocean makes it hard. I think it would be great for someone to plan a forum gathering over there. If you guys decide to do this if I can help in any way just let me know. We will take lots of pictures and will make them available for all to see that can't attend.

Abby, There is still hope for you, there is still 83days until the forum gathering. Yes you will be missed if you don't come.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

septentrion - Mar 14, 2004 1:49 pm (#40 of 308)

thanks Boop for your encouragements! You're always so kind. It'd be cool to have a forum gathering in Europe but what'd be the best location? England? France? another country? That's the first choice to be made. Any suggestions, European folks?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Julia. - Mar 14, 2004 2:44 pm (#41 of 308)

Well Septentrion, I'm not European, but I have to suggest-----#93 Diagon Alley, London!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

septentrion - Mar 15, 2004 1:17 pm (#42 of 308)

Good idea Julia, I just need a wizard to lead me in

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Detail Seeker - Mar 15, 2004 4:20 pm (#43 of 308)

Julia, do you have Fred´s or George´s electronic post box address ?

septentrion, I think any location, that is easily reachable by plane - best by one of these cheap airlines - , train or car will do as long as there is somebody, who organizes this. I know, that I will not manage to do this, though I would like to.

As soon as somebody said: I will do, we will see, who can come.

The PoA premiere-day will be good - and perhaps some cell-phone contact to the American meeting at some time of the day.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Tomoé - Mar 15, 2004 5:45 pm (#44 of 308)

I'll be there with my sister.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

boop - Mar 15, 2004 9:14 pm (#45 of 308)

Tomoe, YAY!!!!SO COOL glad you and your sister are going to be there. I know you will have a great time and I look forward to meeting you both

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Flame Alligator - Mar 16, 2004 11:58 am (#46 of 308)

Hey guys, I need roomies to share expenses on hotel. I am clean and neat and a little crazy. Plus, I am tolerant of anything. Please somebody stay with me.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

alexa - Mar 16, 2004 6:39 pm (#47 of 308)

Sorry, I hope I am not interfering with your conversations. I will not be there (as I am too poor) but I will like to drop a message to all of you. Enjoy yourselves! Happy Holidays

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

boop - Mar 16, 2004 9:34 pm (#48 of 308)

Alexa, It's too bad you won't be able to make it. Thanks, we will have a great time. We are going to take lots of pictures so everyone will get to see them that can't make it.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

scully jones - Mar 17, 2004 8:01 pm (#49 of 308)

Hey Flame, I'll ask Jimmie if he'd mind sharing a room...

Won't make any promises though, it's a possibility.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Lisaren - Mar 21, 2004 8:01 am (#50 of 308)

I haven't been posting much lately, but I am going to try to talk my husband into attending. It sounds like great fun.

Tomoé - Mar 24, 2004 12:06 pm (#52 of 308)

Waaay back to post #2, Tracie said : "We are also planning on invading a movie theater to see the movie. I think I've mentioned everything we've discussed in the chat room, if not, boop will correct me lol."

How many theaters are there in Bellefonte?

(We reserved our room this morning, it's never too soon [I sound a bit crazy ^_~])

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

boop - Mar 24, 2004 12:51 pm (#53 of 308)

There are movie theaters near State College and that will be where we will be going. The one theater has 12 screens, one that has 6 screens and then down town State College 5 screen and then there is one theater in Bellefonte. I will be talking to the owner of the theaters to see what special rate I might be able to get us or about when I can get the tickets in advance. Plus I will be contacting the local paper and see if they are interested in doing a story on this event.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

!!!!!LauraAngel - Mar 25, 2004 12:50 pm (#54 of 308)

A get-together! That sounds like a great idea. Unfortunately I live in Denmark and a trip to Pennsylvania might be a bit expensive...

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

septentrion - Mar 28, 2004 12:57 pm (#55 of 308)

I wish we could organize such an event in Europe but I'm not skilled enough nor I don't have enough time to do it alone.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

boop - Mar 28, 2004 5:42 pm (#56 of 308)

I wish you guys could organize an event like the one that is going to take place here in the states. I would be glad to help giving ideas about planning an event. If I could organize it for you I would do that for you, but since I live in the states it would almost impossible to do that. So if someone would be willing to do the planning I would gladly help you as much as I can. Just remember that we will have lots of pictures to share with everyone.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Denise P. - Mar 28, 2004 5:52 pm (#57 of 308)

I am tentatively looking into coming. Right now, it hinges on my 22 yr. old being able to watch the kiddies for the 24 hours I would be gone. I won't know for sure for several weeks though but I really hope it will work out.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Tomoé - Mar 28, 2004 6:03 pm (#58 of 308)

I hope to see you Denise.

Julia. - Mar 28, 2004 8:20 pm (#59 of 308)

We'd love it if you came Denise, and hey, why don't you bring the kids along, we'd love to have them too! The more the merrier!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Marie E. - Mar 28, 2004 9:45 pm (#60 of 308)

Julia, you've obviously never traveled with small children! Heehee.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Julia. - Mar 29, 2004 6:05 am (#61 of 308)

No Marie, I'm only 18, I have no small children to travel with.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Denise P. - Mar 29, 2004 7:13 am (#62 of 308)

It would be like being trapped in a van for 12 hours with a bunch of Cornish Pixies, Julia....keep that visual in mind and you see why they WON'T be coming with me

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Marie E. - Mar 29, 2004 9:14 pm (#63 of 308)

Ok, I'm looking into coming in just for Saturday. We'll see.

I hope more people will decide to come. I guarantee everyone will have a great time.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Marie E. - Mar 30, 2004 9:04 pm (#66 of 308)

Yay! I made someone jump up and down. My day is complete.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Madam Pince - Mar 31, 2004 1:28 pm (#67 of 308)

Cornish Pixies! **snort...giggle...teehee** Too funny, Denise! I hadn't actually thought of that similarity, but I think you're spot on! Maybe Cornish Pixies crossed with a Giant Squid, 'cause sometimes it seems like they have eight arms, too!

If by some chance I am able to come, I feel sure my little "pixie" will have to come along. It won't be quite so bad for me -- just a couple of hours I think. But, he wouldn't be able to go to the movie, so I'd probably have to skip that part and just go later. We'll see how it works out!

By the way, does the movie come out the 5th or the 6th? When are you planning to do the movie invasion? Would it be like the 7:00-ish showing on Saturday night, after the picnic outing, or would it be the very first showing (like a noon-ish or something?)

Viola Intonada - Mar 31, 2004 5:51 pm (#68 of 308)

The movie comes out on the 4th.

Madam Pince, We are planning on going to the movies Friday evening, and I hope you can come. Please feel free to bring your family with you. Also some of the forum members might want to go again Sat. night.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Denise P. - Mar 31, 2004 7:02 pm (#70 of 308)

Well, since if I go, I won't get there until Satuday, I will be going to see it on Saturday. I really hope that some Forum members will want to go along with me so I won't be alone in cheering and such.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Tomoé - Mar 31, 2004 7:38 pm (#71 of 308)

I'll go with you Denise, with my sister. We'll be in Bellefont for Friday's night, but I'm not sure we'll make it in time for the movie, with customs, meals and traffic.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Julia. - Mar 31, 2004 7:57 pm (#72 of 308)

I'll still be there on Saturday, I'd love to go Sat. night as well as Friday. The more times I see this movie the better.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

icthestrals - Apr 1, 2004 10:23 am (#73 of 308)

I won't be able to come, but I will be there in spirit. Y'all have fun. Maybe you guys will make the national news since you'll have a large crowd going on opening weekend.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

DJ Evans - Apr 1, 2004 2:14 pm (#74 of 308)

Yes, though I'm here in the South and couldn't even begin to think of making a trip up there, it sounds like all of y'all are going to have such a blast!!! Sure wish all of us in the Lexicon Forum weren't so spread out here, there and everywhere then we all could make it. Wouldn't it be a hoot to have a showing just for the Lexicon folks? Talk about making some memories--we all would walk away with them and most likely wouldn't even need a Pensieve to replay the experience!!! Have a good great time!!! Just 63 more days and the big event will be here!! I remember when I first got my countdown timer (just for the release of PoA Movie) on my computer it was something like 115 days till June 4th!! It's getting closer and closer!!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

WeasleywannaB - Apr 6, 2004 5:53 pm (#75 of 308)

Hi everyone... it's me, Jen, I have asked my dad if I can go, and he says he will think about it. I will have to get out of some marching band stuff too, but that will be easy. Hope to see you all there!

mike miller - Apr 8, 2004 6:00 am (#76 of 308)

Count me in! I live between Baltimore and Philadelphia so it should only be a 2 1/2 to 3 hour drive. I'll come up for the Saturday in the Park. I'm looking forward to meeting some of the Forum veterans as I've only been on the Forum for a little over a week.

Boop - Please email me map/directions and any other info you may have (mikeandjane4@comcast.net)

Since it sounds like many people are planning to see PoA on Saturday, we may want to set up a "No PoA discussion" area as not to spoil anything for anyone. I've scheduled 6/4 as a vacation day for me and plan to see the movie at least twice before heading up to the gathering.

Hello Everyone just a little update, I have talked to a local reporter and they want to do a story. We are working on getting a tee-shirt made for the June 4th weekend gathering. The design is not completed yet. I will post it when we have the design. I don't know what the cost for the shirt will be yet, because I am waiting for the design to take it with me. There are 9 different places that do screen printing in my area, so I will go with the lowest price that I can get.

If you are looking for directions to the gathering go to map quest.com and get directions to Bellefonte. From Bellefonte I have a map that I will email you when you want it.

Everything else is going as planned right now. I just can't wait to meet everyone. I hope more will try and come it will be a great deal of fun for everyone. I just want people to know that you can bring your family or guest(s) with you. Nobody has to come alone.

boop - Apr 18, 2004 1:21 pm (#78 of 308)

I stopped by the Premiere Theatre today and talked to the manager about our event. They will not know until 2 weeks before the release if they will have the movie or the Cinema's. The manager told me that they sell advance tickets one week before the release of the movie. So for Friday night I can get our tickets in advance, I will just need a total by the 29th of May. Then on the Saturday, he told me that if I had 50 people or more we can get a private viewing of the movie. I know we can make the 50 or more easily so that Sat, if the Premiere has the movie, we will get a private viewing.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Denise P. - Apr 18, 2004 2:59 pm (#79 of 308)

Wouldn't that be cool? A private showing so we can whoop, throw popcorn, and holler without having to worry about "normals" in there.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Julia. - Apr 18, 2004 4:09 pm (#80 of 308)

That would be awesome Boop. If we fall short of 50, let me know, and I'll see about bringing a few people. I would love to whoop and scream out during the movie, when I saw the last one, I started wildly applauding at the opening notes of Hedwig's Theme, and my friends had to tell me to shut up.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

scully jones - Apr 18, 2004 5:40 pm (#81 of 308)

Oh that would be so great!!!

One slight problem for us:

My boss is offering us an office cleaning job on the side. Every other weekend, we have to clean up an office building. (There's normal cleaning for an hour or two a day as well but that doesn't affect this).

If we took this job, and the weekend of the gathering was the weekend we needed to clean, complications arise.

Either Jimmie would have to stay behind, (Noooooooooo!) or I would not be able to go at all.

Jimmie would have to quit the theater job, and we would lose all of the free things that go with that. So I'm hoping he decides to not take this new one. I'll go along with it... And inform our boss that that weekend (which happens to be right before my birthday, so I have a more logical reason to skip it) is off-limits.

Which reminds me, June 8th is my 21st birthday... *hint hint*

Still hoping to see you all there!!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Madam Pince - Apr 21, 2004 12:48 am (#82 of 308)

Oooooooo....a private showing on Saturday! Now THAT would be a lot of fun! I'm like Denise -- if I can come, it would be on Saturday, so I'd definitely be interested in that. I have to start to seriously work on hubby and see what we can manage....hope to make it!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

draco all the way - Apr 21, 2004 9:55 pm (#83 of 308)

I can't possibly come but I'll whoop and shout at my theatre. We (as in my friends and I) always do that despite what the "normals" may think. Have fun you lucky lucky people! Come back and tell us all about it! If I still lived in Virginia I'd be over there in a flash! Oh well...

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Molly Weasly Wannabe - Apr 30, 2004 7:10 am (#84 of 308)

I won't be able to attend this For one.....I live too far away, and for another we are moving around this time frame. Ya'll have a good time!!!! And sing to my son on June 4th. That is his 8th Birthday.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

DJ Evans - Apr 30, 2004 9:11 am (#85 of 308)

Molly--what a cool birthday present to have--the coming showing of PoA!!!! Definitely tell him that all of us here will celebrate his birthday by going to the movies!!!! hee hee

Later days, Deb

Loopy Lupin - Apr 30, 2004 12:25 pm (#86 of 308)

Sniff, sniff.....**Lupin cries** I now have a trial scheduled to begin on June 7th, so I'll be here preparing (except for the once or twice that I make it out to the theater). Sniff, sniff. Please think of ol' Loopy on that weekend..... Sad

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

boop - May 1, 2004 4:03 pm (#88 of 308)

Loopy Lupin, all I can do is . Hey why did they schedule a trial then, don't they know you have a very important event to attend to!!! I wanted so much to meet you, I have enjoyed the times we have talked in the chat room, even if it was only a couple times. Do you have aim or msn if so can I have your screen names to add to my lists. I hope to talk to you soon in the chat room, Hey I just thought of something what if we need an attorney, wouldn't we come first being that this meeting is very important!!!! Well Loopy you will be missed.

Tomoe, We will have enough for the private viewing as long as the right theatre has it, which I am crossing my fingers, toes, and eyes.

Sorry that it’s just too far for some to come you will be missed.

Accio Sirius - May 3, 2004 1:53 pm (#89 of 308)

Is there any other requirement other than being a HP fan? I haven't been on the forum that long and don't know everyone very well, but was thinking of making the trek.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Julia. - May 3, 2004 1:56 pm (#90 of 308)

Accio, any and all members of the forum are welcome to come, the more the merrier I say. If you’re worried about now knowing everyone very well, then stop by the chat room some evening or give us your AIM or MSN screen names, so we can talk more.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

boop - May 3, 2004 3:00 pm (#91 of 308)

Accio, NO - no other requirements - you just come and you will have a great time, I promise you will get to know a lot more people by just coming. If you want to talk with us before the gathering come into the chat room or if you have msn or aim just put me on your buddy list and IM me some time

For anyone who want to talk with me about the gathering or just to talk here are my screen names: msn: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] aim: onebtbp

I hope that there will be more members planning to come. I look forward to meeting everyone.

Thanks Julia and Boop! I will try to make an appearance in the chat room before the gathering. Usually there isn't anyone there if I ever peek in and I'm never guaranteed computer time. I feel lucky if I can catch up on posts. If anyone wants to add me to their list, I am at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] and always happy to discuss all things Potter!

Have fun!

Mare, I can promise you there will be one at least, but we will have other photos as well.

Thanks we will have lots of fun!!!!!!

Anyone who still is thinking of coming please try and come you will enjoy yourself. One of the best parts of this is you will meet people who you talk with on the forum. Go and see the movie as a forum group. Think of this as a mini vacation. If you have children bring them along they are welcome too.

Information on the shirt's will be coming very soon. We will post a picture of the designs that will be put on the shirt.

Acceber - May 6, 2004 12:41 pm (#99 of 308)

Thinking of coming...that means dreaming of coming, right ?

I of course want to go, but being a minor, not able to drive, and still under my parents' purge prevents my dream. Many of y'all know I can't come (via chat room), but I want to make it official. I hope you have fun without me, take a lot of pics, and send me a T-shirt.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Pigwidgeon - May 6, 2004 6:00 pm (#100 of 308)

Denise -- All right!!!!

Acceber -- we'll be thinking of you! And hopefully, this won't be the last get-together of this type.

And, barring the unforseen, 'Hawk and I are coming Made reservations last weekend. And got my car checked over Monday -- mostly because my muffler fell off the previous evening *rolls eyes* Thankfully, it was minor, the doohickie holding it up just came loose (could it have possibly been jarred loose by the spring potholes??? Naaaaah....)

Wow -- it's coming up soon! Can't wait!!!

(Ooo! Goody! 100th post *dancedance*)

Well, my mom has finally agreed that I can come, she's going to book us in a hotel, and it will be my brother and I coming Smile

As a side note, my mom was a little more than slightly worried about the fact that I'm more excited about this than I am about June 3rd, which is when I graduate from high school... *shrugs*

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Lady Kazuma, YAY that you are coming and bring your brother with you. Congratulations on the graduation. This will be a nice graduation gift for you. Please tell your mom thank you for me that she is letting you come. I look forward to meeting you and your brother!. Lady are you coming Friday night or just Sat through to Sunday?

Tomoé - May 11, 2004 6:34 pm (#103 of 308)

Of course you are more excited about the forum gathering than your graduation. You see them every day in school. In fact, it shows that your expectations dwell already beyond school and you can see further than your mom in the future! Just kidding. ^_^

I'm eager to see you all!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

boop - May 12, 2004 2:07 am (#109 of 308)

I am going to get a price for the shirt. I will then post how much. There will be a deadline on how long you will have to decide if you want a shirt. Anyone who would like to get a shirt may. That is why we have posted what the designs look like.

On a different note, last night I finally got around to booking a hotel room, and sometime this week I should get my tickets, provided I can be bothered to get out of the house.

Wow, what a great design Brandon! Are you allowed to export them?

boop - May 17, 2004 7:48 am (#115 of 308)

Everyone who is interested in getting a shirt will have to let me know by Wed. at 3pm. I will find out the cost today. They will be printed in Black shirt or and white shirt. So I will also need to know which color of shirt and size. I talked to the place that is going to print them this morning and they can have the shirts done for the 5th if I get a total number of shirts needed. If you would like to get a shirt after this date we can still get them made too.

Everything is coming along really well. I am very excited on meeting everyone. I will post where we are planning on meeting Friday and the time too. I will find out this weekend if the theatre is getting the movie, if so I will book the private viewing, for Sat. night. I will be able to get Tickets for Friday night one week before the lease. So I will also need to know by next Sat how many tickets I will need to get.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

icthestrals - May 17, 2004 9:43 am (#116 of 308)

Everyone, I talked to the owner of the PAMP printing place and I now have until Friday to give him the total and sizes of the shirts. That way it gives more time for people to decide if they want one.

I have not decided on how to handle the money for the t-shirt's for the ones who want a shirt and can't make it to the gathering. I will get back to you on how we can do this.

I will have to call the owner on Monday for the details . So if you are planning on coming both or one of the nights please let me know which or both and how many tickets you need.. I will get a few idea just in case we need them. I will need this information by Monday please. One good thing is that the theatre is showing it on 3 screens. I will post more information on Monday.

I hope everyone is getting ready to have a great time, can't wait to meet everyone that will be there.

Julia. - May 25, 2004 7:38 pm (#136 of 308)

I'll be there Friday and Saturday, all by my lonesome.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Denise P. - May 25, 2004 8:02 pm (#137 of 308)

I will be there Saturday, just me.

I plan to bring my wand and sit in the section where those who want to, can leap to their feet, point their wand at the screen and scream "Expecto Patronum!" along with Harry. heh heh heh

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Tomoé - May 25, 2004 8:12 pm (#138 of 308)

Which hour the representation on Friday? To see if we can make it in time.

Miréimé and me, we'll take tickets for Sunday for sure.

LOL Denise! I'll bring my wand as well. ^_^

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Pigwidgeon - May 25, 2004 8:37 pm (#139 of 308)

Ooo, good point, Tomoe! I'm game to see PoA Friday and Saturday, but it's going to depend on what time Friday everyone goes to see it. If it's 7 or later, than that should be Ok, and I would need two tickets both nights, one for me and one for Hawk.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Viola Intonada - May 25, 2004 9:24 pm (#140 of 308)

Betty, put me down for two Saturday night.

Which small airport is closest to the picnic site? The plane is reserved, the sitter is all set up, now I just have to hope that the weather is good!

How do we arrange to be picked up?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Tomoé - May 25, 2004 10:05 pm (#141 of 308)

According to Miréimé's calculus, we should arrive in Bellefonte for 7 to 8 pm (she allowed us three extra hours for eating, passing customs and getting lost ^_^ ) if we are careful not to waste time, we should be able to make it to the theater for 7 or later (like Pig).

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Madam Pince - May 25, 2004 10:32 pm (#142 of 308)

Hi Betty -- oops, sorry I missed Monday deadline (it's a very long story) -- hope I'm not too late. Put me down for two for Saturday night. We plan to arrive early afternoon Saturday -- it's about a five hour drive I'm afraid, so even if we leave pretty early I can't see us getting there before 1 or 2. Hopefully that'll give us some "picnic time" before the movie. We're spending the night and then will head home Sunday.

Are we going to have nametags? It'd be neat to be able to see everyone's "Forum name" to go with a face! I'd be happy to bring them, but I won't be there until Sat. afternoon. Let me know!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Tomoé - May 25, 2004 10:36 pm (#143 of 308)

Don't worry Madame Pince, the deadline is for Monday 31st, not Monday 24th (boop made her post on Tuesday 25th). ^_^

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Madam Pince - May 25, 2004 11:02 pm (#144 of 308)

Duh....***turns red and kicks carpet*** Sigh... I'm just not with it yet! I did miss the t-shirt deadline, though, right? If I could get one, I'd take one large in black. But if I can't, it's no big deal.

boop - May 26, 2004 1:48 am (#145 of 308)

Hello, Everyone we are going to see the movie Fri and Sat. night not sure of the time yet but will be 9pm or little later. I will know the time for sure Monday after I talk with the Manager.

Michelle, University Park Airport, and there is a small airport in Bellefonte too. I will pick you and your husband up at the airport, I will just need to know the time to be there.

Tomoe, so do you want to come Fri. to the movies since you and your sister will be in town?

I am getting a new cell phone so I will have my number for anyone who will need it real soon and if you need my home phone number just e-mail me and I will forward it to you

Madam Pince, I have name tags already so no need for you to bring any. I also ordered extra shirts so I do have a large black shirt for you.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Lady Kazuma - May 26, 2004 2:42 am (#146 of 308)

Lupin is Lupin. Natch. - May 26, 2004 5:31 am (#147 of 308)

Betty, it'll be just me and I'll need a ticket for both Friday and Saturday nights.

Oh, and to take a spin on Denise's idea, I'll be sitting in the section with the other people who will be taking our candy, popcorn and what-have-you and throwing it at the screen whenever Lupin's mustache is shown. I might also do it when Hermione's Time Turner is in full view.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Tomoé - May 26, 2004 1:31 pm (#148 of 308)

9pm or little later, that good to me. Miréimé and I will take tickets for Friday too.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Miréimé - May 27, 2004 11:06 am (#150 of 308)

Now, time for the real question :

Will we be needing some flesh-eating slug... err mosquito repellent?

Edit : It's great ! Will have name tag! Everybody will be able to tell me from Tomoé. ^_~

I talked on the telephone with boop earlier this morning concerning an email virus on her email. I also talked with her daughter who will try to correct the problem. The Netsky infected their computer and a Netsky attachment is being sent out on her emails. If you receive an email from her, do not open the attachment or better yet have your virus protection system check out the email. She did not ask me to post this; however I felt that being her computer was affected or infected, she may not be able to get on the Forum for a while!

So please be patient if you expect to see boop post.

Denise P. - May 28, 2004 8:19 pm (#158 of 308)

I love the ideas of nametags and will make them up. In order for me to do this, I need those who are attending to do the following.

# Send me an EMAIL, don't post it here since I am bad about taking notes. In this EMAIL send me: Your Forum Name
# Your Actual Name

I can find your avatar from that point. So if I were doing this, it would say:

Forum Name: Denise P. Actual Name: Denise

My email is very simple.... [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] I will not be sending out a confirmation that I got it although I will post a list on Wednesday of all the ones I got...if you are not there, sorry and send again. I am leaving Saturday so as long as I get it before I sign off on Friday evening, I can get it made.

# Okay, here is who I have so far for a name tag Brandon
# Julia
# boop
# chiaojones (Jimmie)
# chiaojones (Sarah)
# Lupin is Lupin
# Pigwidgeon
# Stellar Hawk
# Tomoé (can you email me your first name please, [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.])
# Miréimé (see note above on your sister )
# Lady Kazuma (does your brother want a tag?)
# Susurro Notites (I did see you said you may come, if so, can I get your first name in email)
# Madam Pince (first name in email) (and does the person coming with you want a tag?)
# Viola Intonada (does the pilot want a tag?)
# Mike Miller

If I am missing anyone, please email me. I will bring some blank tags but you would have to write your name with a pen, won't look as cool as the printed version

Personal avatars make the badges look too cluttered. Here is an example of the name tag. If your Forum name differs from your actual name, your Forum name will be under in smaller, reddish letters.

My brother's name is Andrew, and he said he'd like a name tag "I suppose"

My mom messed up our plans though...She booked the hotel for Friday night, instead of Saturday night... That means my brother and I will want to be seeing the movie Friday night instead of Saturday night. We've got to head back home early so my brother can get ready to go back to college.

I'm so sorry about that...

But Where is this gathering?

Beth

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

boop - Jun 1, 2004 10:17 pm (#169 of 308)

Beth, Bellefonte is about ten miles outside of State College. We are about in the middle of the State of Pennsylvania. The Gathering is being held in a Park called Govenors Park. Beth if you want to know where Bellefonte is get on map quest.com and type in Bellefonte Pa and it will show you where we are. The airport is about 9 miles outside of Bellefonte. If you read some of this thread you will find more answers to your questions. Are you thinking of coming, if so great.

Jack I wish you could be here too. We will have a great time, and will take lots of pictures.

boop - Jun 2, 2004 7:15 pm (#174 of 308)

Hello Everyone, I guess I need to tell where we will be meeting Friday. We will all meet in the Wal-Mart parking lot, which is cross from The Nittany Mall. There is a McDonald's at the Nittany Mall. There is a Barns&Noble and Pier One and Card Factory Outlet and SAms Club all on the same side as the Wal-Mart. The address is 373 Benner Pike State College. We will be waiting in the top part of the parking lot. I have a Blue Dodge Van. We will be hanging out there from about 6pm. I will have my cell number with me, so if you need to call me you can. Tomoe, Emily, and Lady Kazuna I will email you my cell number. I don't have any viruses anymore. If I missed someone who is coming and needs my cell number just email me or let me know on here and I will email it to you.

I just popped on here to say I'm so excited for you gatherers. You're going to have a great time

I have visions of you all huddled round one computer to post on this forum. Or maybe you'll all bring laptops?

Enjoy the film, and the whole experience. Remember to restrict spoilers to the PoA movie thread Saturday onwards.

Boop, we will have to give you a special trophy for Services to the Forum. A squillion house points too.

Hi boop, it's me... We're off to the airport! See you soon! at about 10:49 or so I guess. Funny thing happened on the way to the forum... I'll talk about it in the chat thread.

# edit Julia, are we still sharing a room? We'll have our own room tonight obviously, but I guess we can talk about it when we see each other there tomorrow?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Madam Pince - Jun 3, 2004 3:05 pm (#177 of 308)

Boop, just found out that my husband has tomorrow off from work, so we're coming up Friday. That will save us from being so rushed and tired out from so much driving on Saturday. I wasn't thinking we'd see the movie Friday, I was just planning on a relaxing drive up and check into the hotel, then meet everyone on Saturday morning, but since it's a 10:00pm showing that y'all are going to, we may try to meet you there. Don't worry about tickets for us, though -- if we get there, we get there, and if we don't, we don't. Maybe a showing that late at night won't be sold out. Anyway, we'll definitely see you Saturday morning for sure! Thanks again for everything.

Sarah, I don't think we need to. I have a room booked for Friday and Saturday nights. They're cheap enough that I can afford it, even on my college student budget.

Hello Everyone, Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who was able to come. I had a great time, it was nice to meet the people who you talk too all the time. WE took lots of pictures so you will be seeing them very soon. I can't wait until next year, so for those who couldn't make it this year maybe next year. I am looking forward to my vacation in July when I will get to meet Tracie and will be getting together with some of the other forum members who came.

Oh when I was taking down the decorations, I noticed one of my hogswart Crest was missing. I guess someone liked it that they just helped themselves to it.

I am back! I got stuck in Detroit for an hour because of plane problems but made it back fine.

Betty gets great, huge thanks from me for being such a gracious hostess and getting all this together. I had a great time!

Just a few observations for now until more who were there arrive back.

  • Brandon's shirt designs look great in person!
  • Brandon and Root Beer are a dangerous combination.
  • Sarah's Jimmie has the patience of a saint and is highly commended for not braining the lot of us!
  • MoaningMyrtle101's hair holds popcorn for an incredible amount of time.
  • Bother, bother, bother!
  • It was COLD at the park.
  • Mr. Pince and Mr. Viola Intondada rock for being there and putting up with our conversations that left them in the dark

This is just a quick note since I have about 300+ messages to read and really want to check out the movie thread. I know people will be posting pictures soon, I left my camera in my hotel room (DUH!) so don't have any of us at the park.

You know, I'm positively Slytherin green from envy at all the people who could attend. Specially since I had to spend most of the weekend doing the most boring work... typing a report (or better, trying to)

But I'm glad you all had a good time I hope all the hubbies and tag alongs didn't go insane. I think HP forum members tend to get a little wild around the internet, I don't even want to imagine what they would be released in the "sane" world as a group...

Hi guys! The directionally-challanged owls have returned to the owlry in Northeast Ohio safe and sound

And now for a little duet from us (this is the chance to grab your ear plugs).....

Stellar Hawk and Pigwidgeon: "If you goooo to Penn-syl-vaniaaaaa, beee sure to wear some popcorn in your haaaair....."

Pigwidgeon: This was a WONDERFUL weekend (you can take out the earplugs now). Thank you Betty, for organizing this! It was great meeting all of you, and I hope it won't be the last!

Stellar Hawk: Ditto! Ditto! Ditto! This was loads of fun & I'm really glad I came along and got to meet everyone. Thanks especially, Betty for helping us out of our directional difficulties! We look forward to doing this again sometime!

Cheers!

Denise P. - Jun 6, 2004 2:39 pm (#190 of 308)

For those sitting at home thinking "Okay, whats the deal with the popcorn??!!"...when we went to the movie, Betty had an industrial sized bag of popcorn. Someone (whose shall be nameless but whose name begins with the letter B and ends with the letter N) started tossing it. Before too long, there was a section of us tossing bits of popcorn, piling popcorn on heads, putting pieces on hats and in general, being obnoxious with bits of popcorn while waiting for the movie to start.

And yes, Julia and I did point our wands at the screen during various bits. I couldn't see down a row to see if Tomoé was using her wand as well.

Denise P. - Jun 6, 2004 4:05 pm (#191 of 308)

Betty, I forgot to add...that is terrible that someone took that Crest! I would have expected better and someone having at least the courtesy to ask for it rather than abusing your hospitality that way. Tsk, tsk, tsk

Betty had really cool decorations up, house crests, Hogwarts Express, a platform, plates with House colors...it was really nifty. I am sorry someone took something that way.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Madam Pince - Jun 6, 2004 6:33 pm (#192 of 308)

Betty, you would not believe the chewing out I just gave my husband. We just got home and were unpacking, and he hands me this lovely cardboard Hogwarts crest and says "Here!" I said "Where did you get that?" and he says "I got it from the picnic." So I said "Did Betty give it to you?" and he says "No, I just figured she was probably going to throw them away and so I just grabbed it." So I chewed him out "What is the MATTER with you? You can't just do that!" and other choice comments, and in general took many points away from his house.

Now I log onto here and see what you and Denise wrote, and I fall apart with embarrassment and start chewing him out all over again. Even as I write this now, he is rolling on the floor laughing at me, and saying "Betty gave it to me! We did it as a joke to see what you'd say!" So I said "But Denise doesn't know, and now she'll think we're awful!" And he says "Everyone knows! Everyone knew but you! It was a practical joke on you!" Oh he-he-ha-ha.

He will NOT be getting a permission slip to visit Hogsmeade anytime soon, I can tell you that for sure! Hmph.

Well, anyway, that aside, he tells me to tell everyone that he had a great time and really enjoyed meeting everyone. And I second that wholeheartedly! It was great! Thank you so much Betty for all the work you did -- everything looked great and the food was wonderful. It was so neat that everyone brought their "stuff" to share with everyone -- sketch books, copies of books, wands, scarves, swords, Snitches, etc....etc...etc... The t-shirts are fantastic -- I've been wearing mine ever since we got home. We had a wonderful time. You guys were great!

And, er....Betty....if you want, I'll mail your crest back to you!

I am now going off to Crucio my husband.

Denise P. - Jun 6, 2004 6:39 pm (#193 of 308)

Bwahahahaha Madam Pince, we have been waiting to see what would happen. Yes, Mr. Pince was right, I was aware of the joke when I posted. After Betty posted, I just had to stir the embers a bit with my post.

Be easy on Mr. Pince, he sat with us all day and was so nice while we talked about Harry. Give him mucho points for coming along and hanging out with us. I know I certainly enjoyed talking to both of you. Big points to your house for getting up at oh-dark-thirty to take me to the airport too

Brandon and Jim infected us with their evilness...it is their fault!

Embers? We had a bonfire going here for a minute! And I still say, "Hmph" to him. He just walked by me laughing yet again. Just wait until I learn how to do the bouncing ferret curse...

Well, I guess you're right, though -- we should say thanks to all the guests who came along and were so patiently sitting around listening (not listening?) to our theories. Big cheers to MoaningMyrtle's Dad -- it was so great of him to bring her and to come along and check us all out to be sure we aren't quite as weird as...well...never mind.

Glad I could be of some small assistance with your flight, Denise. It was actually kind of nice to be out that early for a change. Anna Katerina was just saying last week how nice it is early in the morning, and by golly she's right! It was so quiet and so little traffic that the bunny we saw sitting beside the road on our way to the airport, was still sitting there when I came back by!

boop - Jun 6, 2004 7:42 pm (#195 of 308)

Madam Pince, I am sorry, but it was hanging out with Jim and Brandon that did it. LOL it was so much fun playing this little trick on you, it just happened to be you the victim this time. Who know who will be the next in line. So b ware everyone it could be you next time. I am so glad you came and brought your husband we had fun with this little joke at your expense. I can't wait to talk with you again real soon.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Denise P. - Jun 6, 2004 8:26 pm (#196 of 308)

I agree, MoaningMyrtle's dad gets major, major points. I vote she should get him a Cool Dad of the Year award for Father's Day. He was so neat to come with her and listen while we all talked over one another.

Denise P. - Jun 6, 2004 8:44 pm (#197 of 308)

As promised, here are some photos from our gathering. Most of these belong to Betty but some are mine. I know others will be posting and if you guys need space, I can give you the password so you can upload them on this site.

scully jones - Jun 6, 2004 9:10 pm (#198 of 308)

I still have to go get mine from Walgreens. I'll be putting them up... Eventually!

So much to say, but I'd prefer to type it all out on my site. I hope I have the patience! I'll be back here soon!

Julia. - Jun 6, 2004 11:13 pm (#199 of 308)

What a wonderful weekend! I had such a wonderful time in PA this weekend. It was very nice to finally meet you all in person, and that was the best HP discussion I've had in a very long time. Very refreshing. Even the Muggles seemed to enjoy it. Major points to Emily's dad for taking her, and points to the rest of the Muggles for putting up with endless Harry Potter talk. Betty, thank you soooooooo much for hosting. You're a wonderful host and we love you for it. Jim, Bother Bother Bother Bother Bother Bother! Brandon, great avatar! My photos are also up, on the same page as Betty and Denise's, and now that they're up and ready for your viewing pleasure, I'm off to remove the remaining bits of popcorn from my hair. Have a good night everyone!

Brandon Christopher - Jun 6, 2004 11:53 pm (#200 of 308)

# throws popcorn and spills rootbeer*

Yes, it was a ton of fun and I can't wait for the next one. ;-) It was so nice meeting everyone and talking HP in person finally. And I appreciate no one ruining my evil image here, I must keep my reputation up!

Yeah, I figured you would all like this avatar.

The Great Abbycadabra - Jun 7, 2004 1:52 am (#201 of 308)

I'm glad everyone had fun! If anyone's pictures has a fuzzy haze in it, that'd be me astral projecting.

tracie1976 - Jun 7, 2004 5:57 am (#202 of 308)

Love the pictures!! Thanks for sharing Looks like you guys had a blast.

scully jones - Jun 7, 2004 5:58 am (#203 of 308)

I haven't had time to edit my site much, but I do have the diary of the 3rd up, but the other links don't work, okay?

Here

Chemyst - Jun 7, 2004 6:37 am (#204 of 308)

The photos are so appreciated! Too bad Walgreens doesn't do the moving-pic developing thing though. It was so cool to see some of the T-shirts, very nice work.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Madam Pince - Jun 7, 2004 9:30 am (#205 of 308)

Abby, I kept seeing the "wall" of Platform 9 3/4 billowing inwards. That must've been your projection trying to get through. I wore my Hedwig owl earrings with the Egyptian hieroglyphs in your honor.

(For those of you who weren't there... Betty had done the coolest thing -- she had a pair of red bedsheets onto which she had drawn a brick design, thereby creating Platform 9 3/4, and it was hung across an open space so you could walk through it. Her co-worker helped out by drawing the picture of the Hogwarts Express which you can see above us in the group picture. I think her co-worker also made the cake, which not only tasted great, but had the design from the back of the t-shirts on it.)

Padfoot - Jun 7, 2004 10:09 am (#206 of 308)

Those pictures look great. It looks like you all had a really wonderful time! I sure wish I could have been there. Maybe the next time there is a gathering I can go.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Gina R Snape - Jun 7, 2004 10:29 am (#207 of 308)

Sarah, the pictures didn't come up.

Denise, thanks for posting yours. So funny to see people you 'know' isn't it?! Sounds like you all had a fabulous time.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Denise P. - Jun 7, 2004 10:48 am (#208 of 308)

Sarah's pictures are not up yet, just the link

Gina, it is always fun to meet people you "know" from online. They rarely match how you picture them in your mind. Heh, someone told me that they pictured me as short and blonde before they saw a picture me (taller and brunette)

Of all the people I met, I would say Mike was the biggest surprise for me. I will let him wonder about that for a bit before I say why (if I even do....I feel evil today)

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

scully jones - Jun 7, 2004 11:58 am (#209 of 308)

I completely agree with you, Denise! Mike was a huge suprise. Though Brandon's occasional lack of evilness was a big plus as well.

Walgreens forgot to make my disc, so I have to wait until tomorrow to show them to you guys. A few of my favorite shots seem to be missing. I'm quite angry about that, but there's not much I can do.

I'll post more soon! I promise!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Brandon Christopher - Jun 7, 2004 12:03 pm (#210 of 308)

You're ruining my image! I was evil - I swear!!!

Remember the rootbeer, the roooooooooooooooooooootbeer!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

wormsé - Jun 7, 2004 12:33 pm (#211 of 308)

Awww, now Brandon... everyone knows that you're not really evil. They just play along to make you feel special. You're really a softie at heart, ya know... Smile

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

mike miller - Jun 7, 2004 12:36 pm (#212 of 308)

Come on Denise, what are you waiting for? I know, you want to make me stew. (Sarah - you're authorized to fire away also). We're all family now.

My Dumbledore hat from Alivans was waiting for me when I got home. I'm so bumbed that I did not have it to wear to the film and up to PA. I wore it to work this morning!

Brandon - You only have an evil streak, sorry for the image dent.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Brandon Christopher - Jun 7, 2004 1:26 pm (#213 of 308)

My poor - poor image...

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Padfoot - Jun 7, 2004 2:01 pm (#214 of 308)

Brandon, the rest of us who weren't at the gathering still think you are evil!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

scully jones - Jun 7, 2004 2:11 pm (#215 of 308)

Oh yes, evil evil brandon! ROOTBEER! I shall add that very soon to my gathering diary page.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Denise P. - Jun 7, 2004 2:19 pm (#216 of 308)

Brandon, no worries from me...you are still evil.

Mike...I think I will let you stew a bit longer but rest assured, it is a good thing. I am not going to post that you are a complete flake and spooky

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Acceber - Jun 7, 2004 2:50 pm (#217 of 308)

Those are great! Some people (all the people, actually) look a lot different than how I picture them. Now if only I had been there...

PS Brandon-you always have been evil, you are evil and you always will be evil. Kapesh?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Julia. - Jun 7, 2004 3:33 pm (#218 of 308)

No worries Brandon, I still think you're evil, even if you do give good hugs. ROOTBEER! You ruined Sarah's skirt! And her shoes! You got root beer on her shoes! I wonder if Jimmie ever did all that popcorn out of his hair. Bother bother bother bother bother bother bother bother bother bother bother bother bother bother bother bother bother bother bother bother bother bother bother bother bother bother bother bother bother bother bother bother bother bother bother bother bother.

boop - Jun 7, 2004 3:52 pm (#219 of 308)

Hello Everyone I am glad you are all enjoying the pictures. The whole weekend was great and I can't wait until next year. I will let someone else play host if they choose, but if nobody decides then it will be in Pennsylvania again. I will not let this stop happening, I have met a great bunch of people and will look forward to seeing them next year. This gathering was for everyone on the forum, I might have played host, but anyone can do what I just did. I wish it would have been more organized on Saturday. It felt to me that my planning all fell apart. In the end everyone had a great time even with the disorganization. I felt physically and emotionally drained, but it was the extra baggage I was dealing with that did it too me. Planning this gathering was fun and, I have learn something about ordering food, hehehehe. I had enough food to feed the whole forum at least it seemed that way. I was glad that I had plenty of food because I was so worried that I wouldn't have enough. Now my family and I will be eating sandwiches for a long time. hehehe

I just want to take this time and thank everyone for the support they have shown. This forum gathering wouldn't have taken place if you all wouldn't have decided to come and be a part of it. I hope that next year we have even more members coming. I can't tell you how it felt see all the people that you talk with all the time. Well I guess I have gone on long enough, Thank you all again if it wasn't for you coming this wouldn't have been a total success!!!!!!!!!

BTW Brandon don't worry you are just as evil as I thought you would be!!!!! Having you and Jim together made it double trouble. I can't decide which one of you are more evil, I guess I won't decide I will just call it a tie!!!!!!!!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

virgoddess1313 - Jun 7, 2004 5:56 pm (#220 of 308)

Betty-

I'm still more than willing to host next year unless someone else would like to, in which case they can, it's really no big deal. Just let me know.

But it sounds like you all had a wonderful time... the pictures are great!!!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

boop - Jun 7, 2004 6:53 pm (#221 of 308)

'Sara if you still want to do it then you can. I am not the boss of this, I just got the first one under our belt. It doesn't matter to me as long as one is being planned for next year. I will help in any way I can So Sara go ahead and start planning. If someone else wants to get in on it and help you then that would be great as well extra help is always good

Heyho, thanks for the pics! So trippy to actually see people. I'm super glad it went well - but seriously, how could it not when you had a cool sheet Platform 9 & 3 1/4 thing? You people rock.

Erm, Sydney, anyone? Not that far...promise...

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

virgoddess1313 - Jun 7, 2004 8:36 pm (#224 of 308)

OK, I'll go ahead and take next year... but if anyone else wants to do it or if you'd like to help, please please please let me know. I'm wide open for suggestions. You can just email me... but put what it’s about in the subject line because sometimes I'll miss peoples emails entirely and accidently delete them.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Madam Pince - Jun 7, 2004 11:26 pm (#225 of 308)

Boop, I didn't think it was disorganized at all! I thought it was fantastic! You did great, great, great! Three cheers for Betty!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

The Great Abbycadabra - Jun 8, 2004 12:37 am (#226 of 308)

Yeah, that was me messing with Platform 9 3/4, Madam P. Glad you saw me.

Don't worry, Brandon. I'll always think you're evil. There isn't much you can do to convince me otherwise.

YAY for Sara and Marie, I will help you in any way I can.

Hello Everyone I need the following people to e-mail me their addresses so I can get your shirt mailed to you.

Icthertrals

Ric

Becca

Jules

Flame

Lindsay

Sara

Tracie and Sam, I will be hand delivering yours to you when we meet. The newspaper is supposed to have the gathering in it today. I will let everyone know if it is in today’s paper and the link to read it. I won't post it until after work today. I have no way to use a computer where I am working today.

Everyone have a great day!!!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

scully jones - Jun 8, 2004 2:33 am (#230 of 308)

Yay for Betty! You did great, you know! I was thinking Lansing would be a perfect place to host a gathering, but if you guys already have dibs, I can wait. Really, there are a lot of things to do, plenty of hotels and restaurants.

There's:
Potter Park (with a zoo to boot!)
A miniature golf, arcade, batting cage, racing car... etc.. place..
An arcade pool hall
Two multi-plex theaters, one complete with IMAX
Three large Malls (whoop de do)
Many many parks

But maybe for a gathering sometime in the future, eh? Sara and Marie can go first if they want.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Pinky - Jun 8, 2004 5:15 am (#231 of 308)

More than one gathering can certainly be planned. In the chatroom the other night, the idea of regional get togethers was brought up. We have members on the west coast, east coast, southern, central, etc - all over the States. Perhaps our European members could find a way to meet, and I think we have several members in India. I see no reason there needs to be only ONE gathering. The more the merrier!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Denise P. - Jun 8, 2004 6:20 am (#232 of 308)

Betty just called me, the article was in the paper! There is a version online but the pictures are not there. She is mailing me a copy of it so I can scan the photos.

“Hogwild over Harry”

It has Mike "I am a star now" Miller quoted, mentioned Moaning Myrtle, Tomoe and Mirieme (but not by name) and is a nice article.

So Mike, you think I should say why I found you the most surprising, huh?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
mike miller - Jun 8, 2004 6:35 am (#233 of 308)

Absolutely Denise! I have no idea why the writer decided to quote me out everyone they talked to. I don't think my story is any different from anyone else. Although Brandon and Jim probably scared them away with their "evil aura". They could have found out all kinds of details about the Forum from Denise.

I would also like to hear from Sarah (chiaojones)

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Denise P. - Jun 8, 2004 6:42 am (#234 of 308)

Okay, I will spill the beans then.

Let me begin by saying that I read every post on the Forum. I think I have a fairly good grip on who is a frequent poster and a kinda feel for how they are, Brandon aside. His evilness is just...evil...in person.

So, I knew Mike would be there and while I can't say I paid more attention to his posts, I was aware that he posted. Mike is not a prolific poster by any means but he does think out his posts.

Mike, you surprised me at how articulate and interesting to talk to you were. I guess from your posts, I was expecting you to be a little more reserved (and this is also not to say he was a wild party man, dancing on the picnic tables or anything). I would never in a million years have pictured you even being interested in owning HP items, let alone a Dumbledore tassle hat. I think I was surprised mainly because I didn't know about you like I knew others who would be there.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

mike miller - Jun 8, 2004 6:57 am (#235 of 308)

Thanks Denise, I'm flattered. (blushing as I type) There are many times that I think about posting, but for one reason or another, I don't. I've even written detailed posts and then clicked back on the thread instead of the "post message" button. When I first started reading and posting I was taken aback by how much detail the members of the Forum have gleened from the books. I'm having to re-read to try catch up. (Like I need an excuse to read the books again!)

Unfortunately, I’m challenged just enough by the computer that I can't do all of these fun things within my posts (different fonts, colors, smilies). I truly enjoy everything Harry Potter. I still can't wait to see the bouncing white ferret on the big screen!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Catherine - Jun 8, 2004 8:24 am (#236 of 308)

The article was so cute! It makes me wish even more that I could have met people in person.

My family would probably agree with Betty's daughter that posting on the Lexicon Forum is part of some mid-life crisis, but we all know better! Right? Uh, right?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Lady Kazuma - Jun 8, 2004 8:28 am (#237 of 308)

I would hope that's not the case - It would be weird for me to have a mid-life crisis at 18.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Padfoot - Jun 8, 2004 8:30 am (#238 of 308)
Edited by Jun 8, 2004 8:30 am

Thanks for posting that article. That was really neat to read. Mid-life crisis huh? So what does that place those us not yet in mid-life and out of childhood? Quarter life crisis?

Well I'm pretty sure I can come to Marie's gathering. I think I can manage that 1 hour drive.

So The Barmy Old Codger has an inner wild party man?

scully jones - Jun 8, 2004 12:27 pm (#241 of 308)

I made the Gathering shirt for the sims, and I also made Brandon... If you're curious, go here.

Just put this in the chat thread, but I figured you'd like it here as well. I only made the shirt in black because it's a lot easier than white.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Lynn Allen - Jun 8, 2004 2:11 pm (#242 of 308)

That was a great newspaper article, guys! They make us Harry Potter fans sound practically "normal", mid-life crises aside! <grin> I'm really glad you all had such a good time and hope to be able to join the group wherever it might be held next.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Loopy Lupin - Jun 8, 2004 2:35 pm (#243 of 308)

I thought it was a nice article too. It was kind of odd the way the reporter described JKR and the books, though, as though maybe someone out there had not heard of Potter before.

I'm so jealous of you guys. (I did manage to win the trial I had to prepare for instead of going to the gathering myself; and, believe me, I spent most of Thursday and some of Friday trying to settle the case at the last minute to hopefully be able to go. Alas! Earwax.)

Anyway, it looks like boop did an outstanding job. Good for you!!!

And, Brandon, nothing I've heard has changed my conviction that you're evil, so no worries there.

I hope there can be another meeting sooner than a whole year from now......please?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Madam Pince - Jun 8, 2004 3:04 pm (#244 of 308)

I know -- that seems like a long time. I just read an article that says the "GoF" movie is scheduled for release in November 2005, which seems like an awfully long time away to have to wait for another get-together.

Congrats on your case, Lupin!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Dr Filibuster - Jun 8, 2004 4:23 pm (#245 of 308)

Great photos, I almost feel like I was there.

Madam Pince....what about the lexicon launch of book 6 party? Who knows, it may well be published before the next film is released. All the other books have come out in the summertime.

You could have a Lexicon Launch Lunch

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

boop - Jun 8, 2004 5:58 pm (#246 of 308)

Loopy Lupin, Glad to hear you won your case. As for having another get together before the next one, well I would be will to meet anyone who wants to get together again. This time those we would go out for dinner. I was disappointed that you weren't able to make it. I wanted so much to meet you in person. I guess we didn't need an attorney after all. So if you ever get to Pennsylvania please let me know, because I would like to meet you.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Catherine - Jun 8, 2004 6:33 pm (#247 of 308)

Dear Boop,

I last visited PA for a wedding, a quite lovely affair involving my sister-in-law. What's so funny is that I had a severe case of hives that weekend (many years ago), and also the weekend of the gathering!

It's like my body doesn't want me to be happy! Or, I get too excited and weird skin things happen Sad

So if we have another location, maybe I can fake everything out....

--Catherine

P.S. Looking forward to meeting everyone

Pigwidgeon - Jun 8, 2004 7:22 pm (#248 of 308)

It was kind of odd the way the reporter described JKR and the books, though, as though maybe someone out there had not heard of Potter before.

As a journalist, I can say this isn't "odd," but just journalistic style. We have to assume that perhaps our readers have been living under a rock and have never heard of even basic concepts at times like Harry Potter. There is a saying, if your mother says she loves you, verify it. Yes, it's cynical, yes it's playing to the lowest common denominator, but welcome to the world of journalistic writing. By the way, congrats on your case!

Speaking of columns and articles: I'm planning on doing a column myself on my experiences. Will any of you who went mind if I used your first name (ONLY) and state? It will mostly be a personal column on my thoughts and experiences, but I'd like to mention some of the people who came. Please let me know if this will be a problem: e-mail [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], AIM:ningerbil YIM: ningerbil2000. I want to write this starting Monday for the next Wednesday papers.

If it gets put up online, I'll supply a link (but that is a BIG if). If not, I'll see if I can get a copy up another way.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Viola Intonada - Jun 8, 2004 7:59 pm (#249 of 308)

Pigwidgeon, You are more than welcome to use my first name in the article.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, once again Betty, Mr. Viola and I had a great time! I thought it went very smoothly. I wish it could have lasted longer. I loved getting to meet everyone, even if Denise is going to put me on moderated status now, hehehe.

Sorry it took me a while to add in my two cents worth, my children finally had their last day of school today, so I'm finished with my hundreds of things I had to get done.

I'm so glad I got to see this movie for the first time with fellow HP fans. I would have exploded without having someone to talk with about our likes and dislikes of the movie.

I look forward to July! and a gathering next year.

Hopefully, by the end of the week I will have our pictures from the gathering posted. I will have to figure out how first.

Accio Sirius - Jun 9, 2004 11:27 am (#259 of 308)

I really wish I could have come with my family. My three-year-old is very special needs and hasn't been well, so I'm lucky to have seen the movie and post occasionally. I thought up until two weeks ago I could go, but alas, I'll have to make the next one! Glad everyone had fun!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Madam Pince - Jun 9, 2004 11:29 am (#260 of 308)

Good luck on your article, April -- feel free to write away as far as I'm concerned!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

mike miller - Jun 9, 2004 11:30 am (#261 of 308)

Accio - We all missed both you and Loopy. There will be other opportunities, I'm sure.

scully jones - Jun 9, 2004 11:56 am (#262 of 308)

Denise, I have pictures to upload, how do I get that done?

# edit=no objections for using my name!
# edit 2

The pictures are up! My camera wasn't as good as theirs, so they didn't turn out much better. Sorry about that.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Denise P. - Jun 9, 2004 12:35 pm (#263 of 308)

Sarah, grab either Julia or me on MSN and we can give you the password and name to log in and upload them.

Betty, you had a 2005 calendar from this movie...where did you find it??

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

scully jones - Jun 9, 2004 12:42 pm (#264 of 308)

I got it! It worked... I also have updated my diary page to include the 4th. June 4th

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

boop - Jun 9, 2004 2:21 pm (#265 of 308)

Denise I found that calendar at Amazon.com and Denise I am still waiting for your home address so I can mail you a copy of the paper.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Brandon Christopher - Jun 9, 2004 3:27 pm (#266 of 308)

Oh, and no prob with using my name, though you probably don't want any evillness in your article. ;-)

The Great Abbycadabra - Jun 10, 2004 12:34 am (#267 of 308)

'talking' with other site users, both adults and teens

Ooh, I was mentioned in a collective statement in a newspaper article! Yay, about 2.5 seconds of my fifteen minutes of fame. Go me.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Mare - Jun 10, 2004 1:31 am (#268 of 308)

LOL, Abby!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

MoaningMyrtle101 - Jun 10, 2004 8:13 am (#269 of 308)

I don't mind you using my name, Pigwidgeon.

Yay, I was mentioned!! 'A 14-year-old West Virginia girl accompanied by her parents.' It was only one parent, can't they count? Oh, well, I guess that was maybe thirty or forty seconds of MY fifteen minutes.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Viola Intonada - Jun 10, 2004 9:47 pm (#270 of 308)

Betty, I got distracted by the pinata so didn't get to sign your shirt. Please bring it in July. I will have all of my pictures then too.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

boop - Jun 11, 2004 4:17 am (#271 of 308)

Michelle, That is ok, but I will bring it with me in July. Michelle I didn't sign the other two shirts either. I was just not paying attention to what was going on like I should have. I can't wait to see you again. Now that I meet everyone it is like you want to see them on a regular bases. I know this can't happen, but it is nice to dream anyway. The gathering taking place was a dream for me and it came true. It would be neat while I am Ohio if a group of us could all meet and have lunch or dinner together. I know there are more people from Ohio who didn't make it to the gathering. I would love to meet some more forum members.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Viola Intonada - Jun 12, 2004 7:30 pm (#272 of 308)

I will most likely be available in the evenings that week. I would love to get together with everyone in the area.

Fawkes Forever - Jun 15, 2004 5:30 am (#273 of 308)

Finally got round to reading this thread... I had been avoiding it for the sake of self- preservation.... that is I really, really, would have loved to go... just the little 'ol problem with the Atlantic

Looks like a fun time was had by all... which makes me an 'ickle bit more jealous of everyone .... LOL

Betty, well done on the organization ... I think you definitely deserve an Award for Special Services... hee hee

As for a European get together... hmmm, I would say it would have to be in England... home of Harry Potter Now that would be fun... however as I couldn't organize my way out of a paper bag.... (except when under pressure ) I don't think I'd be the person to do it... Actually, how many of us are there in Europe, & how many in each country? I think most Euro Potties live in Britain

It was nice to get to see you all in the photos... & I really felt like I'd been there whilst looking at them ....

Abby... hee hee, I see I wasn't the only one there in Spirit .... lets just say that some of the flying popcorn & spilt root beer wasn't down to Brandon

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Mare - Jun 15, 2004 7:04 am (#274 of 308)

Actually, how many of us are there in Europe

Out of the top of my head? Don't flame me, I am going to forget the most obvious ones...

Brittain: Timrew, Jim the Potty, Liz, Dr Filibuster(?), dumbledore II.
Ireland: Fawkes
France: Septentrion, Essidji
Sweden: Anna Katarina
Norway: Veronika
Germany: Detail Seeker
Netherlands: me, but hopefully by the end of September that will be Brittany, France (knock on wood, knock on wood)

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

septentrion - Jun 15, 2004 7:12 am (#275 of 308)

Sarcastic Ginny is in Germany I think, and leviosa87 is in Germany.

Marè, will you be in Brittany just for holidays or to live there ?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Fawkes Forever - Jun 15, 2004 7:23 am (#276 of 308)

Joost is from the Netherlands (I think)

Also Jules (Sinister Kittens), Azi, Prongs & Phelim (to name but a few more) are from the UK

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

septentrion - Jun 15, 2004 7:26 am (#277 of 308)

Joost is indeed in Netherlands

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Mare - Jun 15, 2004 8:13 am (#278 of 308)

I hope to go on an internship from September till March... if all goes well. I should probably go make up some kind of CV now

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Anna Katarina - Jun 15, 2004 8:35 am (#279 of 308)

Oh yes yes yes, please, we NEED a forum get together in Europe!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Mare - Jun 15, 2004 9:06 am (#280 of 308)

So we get a map, put dots in every place where a forum member (who wants to come) is and then find out what the middle is?

But seriously...are we serious? Because at some locations I could must certainly come.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Detail Seeker - Jun 15, 2004 9:35 am (#281 of 308)

I would like to come. I think, I will start a thread for a european meeting, so that this project gets a place of its own.

Pigwidgeon - Jun 23, 2004 5:00 pm (#282 of 308)

Hi, it's me.

I am writing a column for our paper about the trip, but things like a double murder and other breaking news kept getting in the way.

But I have written the bulk of it, I do have a quick question for Tomoe and Mirieme: what are your first names, please? I'm not sure I have the spelling. If you don't want to post it here, I understand, just e-mail me at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.].

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Liz - Jun 23, 2004 6:43 pm (#283 of 308)

Hey I made a forum about this gathering and it's called Rootbeer Fanfiction, Link to this forum: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Yep the old Fan Fiction about the Rootbeer spill or anything else worth writing Fan Fiction about like the Potter Pupet Palls or whatever.

See you there.

Well Everyone I feel bad, because I got a shirt that was signed as well. I did thank everyone that night and was really surprised with it. I will not wear mine either. I will keep it with all the other Harry Potter things I have. That shirt means alot to me and thank you so much for coming. Without you this wouldn't have been possible. I can't wait until next year. If anyone is interested a group of us are going to get together on July 18th at 4 pm to eat dinner at Mikes Place in Kent, Ohio. If you can make it, we will be glad to have you.

Thanks everyone again great shirt!!!!!

Hugs Always

Betty

Thank you liz, for making a forum for that, does everybody like my story? I worked so hard for, gee, five mintues!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Liz - Jun 25, 2004 11:37 am (#286 of 308)

Sorry if you can't get on to the forum I made even though it had Julia's story she wrote, because the server is down.

I don't even know if that forum will be around after they're done relocating everything to the new server.

If the forum I made doesn't exist after the move then I'll make another one and get that story from Julia, and then post the link to that forum on this thread.

See you all around.

Liz

I'll be sure to go on your site.

Ok, it's official -- I am a goober. I forgot the Wednesday publications would have my column online already!

So here it is: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Hope you enjoy, I had a lot of fun writing it. It could have been twice as long; ah, the tyranny of time and limited paper!

April, I really enjoyed your article. I quickly identified with what was happening and wished I were there, regardless of the weather. Your story along with the pictures that have been available to all will make others almost wish they had been able to attend. My hat is off to each of you who were able to be there.

I again thank each of you who signed my T-shirt that Denise sent me and also thank the ones who were there, but failed to sign my Tee.

This is just a reminder about July 18. A group of forum members are going to meet for dinner. The place we are meeting is called Mike's Place and it is in Kent, Ohio. We will be meeting their at 4:30. So if you are interested in meeting us we would be glad to have you. We will be taking pictures and have them posted for all to see.

I will not be able to meet everyone at Mike's Place on the 18th. I have our Parish Picnic and I will be leaving for my archaeology dig. I hope we will be able to get together for dinner the week you are here Betty along with any other forum members who are able to attend. Please send me an e-mail or call my cell phone, Betty.

Tomoé - Jul 12, 2004 11:08 pm (#308 of 308)

Great article April, I finally get to know what was going on while I was away in my B&B with Mireime. ^_^

I would like to get a copy of your article, but there's no way I could get to Ohio (and my travel account is pretty low after Pennsylvania). Fell free however to count me out of the distribution list, I get the article from the local newspaper, courtesy of our B&B owner who send us two copy of the article, so I'll have something to show to my grand-children. ^_~ I still can copy the article from the website, so don't bother if it's too much trouble.
