The Never-Ending HP Word-Association Game
OK, so here's the opening post from transferring things over from our old Forum... (<-- that's me on my broom moving over from the old home to this new one. LOL.)
I ran across this game on another forum and I thought it would be a light, easy, fun way to reminisce about our most fond memories from the Harry Potter series. The best things about it are that anyone can drop in at any time, and there is no "scoring" or anything that needs to be done. This is a low-maintenance thread.
The idea is just to come up with a new word that has some sort of association to the previous word. (It is also acceptable if it is a multi-word phrase... just keep it reasonable.) For example, someone might say "witch" and the next word might be "wizard" or "Lily" or something, but probably not "which" because, although it can reasonably be associated with "witch," it's not really HP-related. Does that make sense?
OK, everyone have fun!
(A Forum member asked in this post, "Are there any rules on repeating words/phrases?" The general consensus, with 4 responses to date: (#1, #2, #3, and #4, is that, "…repetitions are fine. The same word can start a totally new string of words every time." ~ Julia H.
Madam Pince, the originator of this thread, asked that this rule be added into the header. So... the rule about repetitions is, they are absolutely fine! ~ Potteraholic)

I believe on the "old" forum we left off with Chemyst's: "Xeno's wedding attire"...

Last few posts of "The Never-Ending HP Word-Association Game" thread from WX
Hi folks! I just thought I'd post the last few posts of "The Never-Ending HP Word-Association Game" thread from World Crossing, since I closed the thread there before the witching hour of noon PST on April 15th, and folks were wondering why I did so:
Chemyst - Apr 14, 2011 4:47 pm (#2053 of 2059)
Hagrid's canary-yellow circus tent → Xeno's wedding attire
Choices - Apr 14, 2011 6:17 pm (#2054 of 2059)
Xeno's wedding attire > Deathly Hallow's symbol
Madam Pince- Apr 14, 2011 6:24 pm (#2055 of 2059)
Chemyst, I took the liberty of transferring your "Xeno's wedding attire" over to the new forum... hope that's OK! (I started a new thread over there -- ***she said modestly, buffing her nails.*** LOL. Yes, I have moved one post, while John Bumbledore and Lady Arabella and Potteraholic and Elanor and Denise and Josephine and Mona Amon and Dizzy Lizzy and who knows who else has transferred about 300,000 threads... yeah, Yay Me!)
Potteraholic - Apr 14, 2011 6:41 pm (#2056 of 2059)
Madam Pince, congrats!
Okay, so it looks like this thread should be closed, right?
But shouldn't Choices' post: Xeno's wedding attire > Deathly Hallow's symbol" be the post that's transferred over?
Potteraholic - Apr 14, 2011 8:53 pm (#2057 of 2059)
Hmmm... interesting...
Over on the new forum, dizzy lizzy has followed up on Chemyst's posts of "Xeno's wedding attire" (reposted by Madam Pince) with "penguins". So it looks like Choices' response (Deathly Hallow's symbol) that followed Chemyst's had been inadvertently skipped there.
I suppose it's okay to play 2 different games concurrently? Until this place Disapparates?
So the next poster should follow up on Choices' words:
Deathly Hallow's symbol
Madam Pince - Apr 14, 2011 9:32 pm (#2058 of 2059)
When I transferred/started the new thread, the one saying "Deathly Hallows Symbol" hadn't been posted yet -- or if it had, I hadn't seen it yet. Sorry!
See, I told you I was no good at this. I move one post and I still manage to screw it up!
Potteraholic - Apr 15, 2011 1:35 am (#2059 of 2059)
Okay, Madam Pince, no worries. I'll just close this thread now to avoid any more confusion.
So, for fans of "The Never-Ending HP Word-Association Game", a new thread awaits you at the new place. Enjoy!
Over and out.

Penguins > Durmstrang
Yes, I know penguins are found mostly in the Antarctic, where Durmstrang almost certainly isn't, but I thought of Ron's comment about pushing Malfoy off an ice cap.
