Is this the quote?
EDIT: OK, I've checked the quote, and, of course, I didn't get the words right, LOL! Just keep on guessing, I'm out.
- Spoiler:
- "Never notice nothing, they don't." Stan Shunpike about Muggles? PoA

Hmmm... pretty guessable now... maybe this thread can't be revived after all? After 1 0r 2 more letter guesses, I will just post the answer, rather than drag this puzzle out until it is all spelled out.

Re: Potty Games - Hangman Only, (Vol. III)
Since I am already running 20 Questions, I was hoping someone else would solve the puzzle. However, it appears no one is going to do it, so I will.
Never notice nuffink, they don't.
The speaker is Stan Shunpike, the Knight Bus driver. I believe he is speaking to Harry in PoA, about how Muggles don't seem to notice a lot of the magical things around them ... like how the Knight Bus and Ministry cars manage to jump ahead of them in traffic or squeeze in between the lanes while going the wrong way. Of course, now that we have finished the series, we know about a lot of spells that keep Muggles from finding out about such things ... or remembering them if they did notice them.

Re: Potty Games - Hangman Only, (Vol. III)
Thanks, Solitaire. It looks like the most frequented thread in this Harry Potter forum is now just the 'Chat' thread. Who knows how long the 'Games' threads will last?
You have the quote, exactly. Since I found this quote on the Lexicon, in the heading of the 'Muggles' section, but with no notation about where it could be found, I will trust that it can be found exactly where you say.
On to your puzzle!

Re: Potty Games - Hangman Only, (Vol. III)
I like the games threads ... especially Hangman and 20 Questions ... although sometimes it's not easy to come up with a new idea for 20 Questions. I had to delve into the books last night to find something interesting. I'm hoping some of the "usual suspects" get back into the games now that summer holidays are over and kids are back in school. I think some of the regulars on the 20 Questions and Hangman threads have been traveling, moving, getting back into the swing of the school year, etc., all of which take a bite out of one's time and energy. Perhaps things will pick up.

Re: Potty Games - Hangman Only, (Vol. III)
Maybe, Solitaire. But I don't remember it being this quiet in Septembers past. We've lost a few regulars in the move from WX to forumotion, for one thing, and with each passing year post-DH, I think fewer and fewer regular posters/past members will check in here. But, of course, I'd love to be proved wrong!
So, how 'bout some Es?

Pretty good--5 Es in that little puzzle!

I think most of those on the chat thread will probably stick fairly close. I visit a teacher site, and even though I left for about 6 years (due to annoying and ridiculous behavior by some), I still see several posters who were around long before I found the site. Sadly, some of my favorites on that site have "shuffled off this mortal coil." They are sorely missed, much as we miss Timrew here on HP.
On that note, I think it's time I folded for the night. I didn't sleep much last night, due to coughing. I can sleep in my recliner if I must ... but I am never as rested. Still, it may be necessary until I kick this cold. Bonsoir!

It is, Solitaire. But to paraphrase Mr. Bennett, I "will give others a chance to exhibit."
Purely for anagramming purposes, how 'bout some Ls? (TEAL or LATE or TALE)

The perfect reply to a JA fan. LOL Hmmm ... now that I think about it, here I always thought Mary just wanted to hog the spotlight, so to speak. Maybe she knew that no one else was going to play! LOLPotteraholic wrote:to paraphrase Mr. Bennett, I "will give others a chance to exhibit."
Here are a few strategic Ls.
