Now I KNOW I have problems! (Mental ones, I guess!) I saw your request just now, Shepherdess, and thought, "I added M last night! I remember it!" I looked at the "Sticky" on my screen, and, sure enough, I DID do M! I just forgot to copy it and paste it into the site! LOL" (I do my work-in-progress on a "sticky." Stickies are a program I have on my desktop; I use them to keep hangmen puzzles, trivia, posts, etc., until I finish and paste them into wherever they are going. It helps in the weird instances that something doesn't post. That way, I haven't lost it.)

I have always wondered about this Muggle money changing thing ... Of course, it seems logical, because there might be wizards and witches who earn their living in the Muggle job market, or who inherit from a Muggle relative, for example. LOL.

The British PM and the MoM are aware of each other and seem to understand the connections between the Muggle and magical worlds and how to make them work (while keeping them invisible to the general Muggle public). It makes sense that there would be Wizards in other key parts of the Muggle government (banking, Parliament, etc.) for those times when there simply must be interaction.

Speaking of Muggle-magical interaction, I wish I had Madame Pomfrey here ... I could use a mending charm on my ankle!

You are correct, of course, that there would be times when wizards would obtain muggle money for one reason ore another. But also, sometimes, wizards need muggle money to use for something. For example, when Hagrid gets Harry and takes him to buy his school supplies, he has muggle money for the muggle train. And after shopping, they stop at a hamburger place to eat before Harry goes home. Since the wizarding world exists alongside the muggle world and wizards do interact with muggles, I would think most wizards would have some contact with muggle money. What surprises me is that they all seem so totally clueless about it.

Yes, you are both right, there seems to be much more interaction between Muggles and wizards than the reader is sometimes made to believe. Muggles are not supposed to know about wizards, but what makes wizards so ignorant about Muggles? It reminds me of something Dumbledore has said to Harry: "Strange how nearsighted being invisible can make you". LOL.
