Nice to see you here, Choices!
Great idea, BB! Methinks Fred may be slightly less cautious than George ...
EDIT: Nothing like a little vicious eating to give a story a good jolt! I like it!

Sorry PAH, I was using "large" font, but maybe it only showed up that way for me. I'll try to do better.....

from a safe vantage point.
You are doing marvelosly, Choices! And bolding things gets easier the more you use it. Hint, hint!
Also, folks, let's post the countdown number... it'll get really exciting once we pass 50!
Don't worry, there are no more 'rules' so to speak... just bold and countdown updates, since this thread will end soon and we don't run out of posts before we end the story.

Fred might want to get closer to the action, but the effects of the Billywig sting haven't worn off yet, so he might have no choice but to keep his distance.

Edit: Choices, the countdown is easy. Just look at the number in the post preceding yours - mine is 60 - so somewhere in your post put the number 59. It's as simple as that. You don't have to do any fancy scrolling or anything like that. We don't always have a countdown. It's just that we're close to the end of the thread (and the story) so it helps to keep everyone on track. No techno know how required.

Oh dear.....how do you do the countdown thing? This may be getting too complicated for me - I am techno-challenged.

Maybe the effects of the Billywig start to wear off soon... it's possible...
Choices, sorry if I made it sound all technical. It's really quite easy. As Verity wrote, it's just a question of typing a number at the end of your post. Some of us like to dress our countdown up with a bit of color or scrolling or smilies or all of the above! This forum has so many fun options, it's hard to pass 'em up. So above my usual countdown update, I just typed 59 in a large size, 24. See?

If this is some Northern hemisphere relative of the Billywig, the sting might wear off quicker than the Antipodean version. Now I have an image of the twins trying to run back to the castle, and taking a giant leap with every step, as if they're on the moon!

final push off the trunk,
- Spoiler:
- From what's been written, the picture I got was that Fred was hanging from a low limb, so I imagined he'd push off the trunk with his feet, land on the ground, and grab onto a low bush to stay grounded. Then, as BB suggested earlier: Maybe one of the twins could get knocked down by other thestrals trying to get some of the spoils? That might spook them a bit.
I like that idea, Verity!

Don't you mean 'Friends'? Still makes me chuckle, Fred coming up with that version of Firenze's name. And if that Seer of a Centaur is skilled enough to teach at Hogwarts, he is more than qualified to write for The Daily Prophet. Great idea, Verity. And no probs. re: the pic.Verity Weasley wrote:Perhaps we could have another guest astrologer - how about Firenze?

I'm going to assume that Fred is speaking that line, "That was too close..." so will add a " in front of That in the previous post. We're off to an exciting finish! Just over 200 words to go!
And... um... I just remembered one more Five Words housekeeping thingy... just a little thing... to type in "Story #136" in the post title? Thanks!

I think the posts count got off about two or three posts back....???

Oops! well caught, Choices! That was my mistake... I'm multitasking, and trying to repost riddles in the Archives thread while sending emails. Bad move.
Forgive me for posting in your post, but the above is what is called a NON-POST, a post with no bolded story words. In the interest of saving posts, which are precious in this thread since we don't want posts to run out in the middle of a story, we try not to post non-posts, and include five bolded story words in every post, to get that most 'bang' out of a post, if you know what I mean.
So... I will post five words here so that we don't have another non-post.
PAH's words...

EDIT: So, Choices... if you see this message, go on and post five words to follow the ones I posted here, and then we're back on track!

Although there were two sets of five words in the previous post, I've only counted it as one post since technically it's posts we're counting, not sets of five words.

Right you are, Verity! So instead of 15 sets of 5 words on this page, we'll have 16, for a bit of variety. Now, what's George going to say? I'm thinking it's got to be George, since Fred just spoke, and then a new paragraph was started, which makes me think there's been a change in speaker.
