8. Is it an event or occurrence? It is not an event like the Yule Ball or a Halloween feast, but it is something that happens. Yes, it's an action.

10. Do we see it in the first half of the book? Yes.
11. Do we see it in the first quarter--Chapters 1-8--of the book? Yes.
12. Is this something that is experienced by just one person? No.
13. Do we see it in Chapter 2, Spinner's End? No.
14. Are there Muggles present when this thing happens? As a rule, no. It can happen in the presence of Muggles, though it probably counts as a violation of the Statute of Secrecy. I don't remember any Muggles being present when this event happens in the books, but then who knows...

17. Is it apparating? In essence it is, but that's not the answer yet.
