Re: 20 Questions (Vol. VI)
1. Is it an object? Yes.
2. Is it magical? I don't think so, although they were probably either created or enhanced with magic.
3. Do we see them in more than one book? No.
4. Do we see them in several locations in that book? I'm going to say no. We only see them once, and I don't think they are mentioned again. If I find they are, I'll make a note of it here.
5. Do we see it in one of the first three books? No.
6. Does it have "of" in the title? Yes.
7. Do we see them in Hogwarts Castle? Yes.
8. Are they associated with one particular person? No, not just one.
9. Do we see them in GoF? Yes.
10. Are they directly linked to the normal proceedings of the Triwizard Tournament? No, not at all.
11. Is one of these smaller than a bread box? Yes, definitely.
12. Is this something that a person could consume? Yes, definitely.
13. Do we see this thing being consumed during a meal in the Great Hall? I'm not sure ... one of them might be.
14. Do we see them in the Gryffindor common room? I don't think we're actually told where they are seen. They are simply mentioned very briefly in a passage that indicates how quickly time is passing, and one of them is at least tasted. I am assuming that they would first have appeared in the Great Hall--which is a good clue to what they are--but by the time they are discussed, they might well be in the common room ... I just don't think we are told.
15. Is this thing some kind of sweet? Mmmmmm ... yep! They are definitely sweet!
16. Are they owned by a male? A couple of males certainly do own some.
17. Is this sweet consumed around the time of Christmas and the Yule Ball? No.

Re: 20 Questions (Vol. VI)
OK, so it's something sweet mentioned in passing in GoF. It is tasted and it is probably made with magic. It comes from the Great Hall, so I assume it is part of a meal. It is not mentioned before or around the Yule Ball. I suppose we have all the necessary information to make a guess - but I have no idea what it is. There is such a wide range of sweet delicacies in HP. Is it fair to consult the book at this point?
Since it comes from the Great Hall...
20. Could it be classified as pastry (rather than candy)?

19. Do we see/read about this sweet being consumed before Christmas/Yule Ball? No, definitely not before it.
20. Could it be classified as pastry (rather than candy)? No, it is definitely candy. It is important to think about how any kind of food item not provided by the House-elves or Hogwarts might end up in the Great Hall. Consider at least one important event that takes place in the Great Hall early each day. That might help you with how it happened to be there. Remember that Fred and George probably have some, as well, which is another good clue to helping you figure out how it got there.
21. Is it the eclairs made by the house elfs that Harry, Ron and Hermione get when they go down to the kitchen to give Dobby his Christmas gift? No, it is not connected to the House-elves or Christmas, although it does involve the Trio.
