Please choose the two wizarding beverages you would most like to try.
1) Butterbeer....warm and in a tall mug, or chilled in a bottle
2) Gillywater
3) Ogden's Best Fire Whiskey...just a thimbleful...it's strong stuff, you know!
4) ice cold pumpkin juice
5) tea....one lump, or two?
6) Rosmerta's mulled mead
7) Elf-made blood-red wine
Edited to add the beginnining and ending dates for this poll in the title, for uniformity's sake.
This topic serves as an archive of a thread from the Harry Potter Lexicon Forum as hosted on World Crossing which ceased operation on April 15, 2011. Elanor

What is your wizarding beverage of choice? (Post 1 to 36)
mona amon - Mar 29, 2009 12:52 am (#1 of 36)
1) Butterbeer tops the list. I've been wanting to try it ever since I first heard of it
Now I can't decide between elf-made wine and fire whiskey. They both sound great!
OK, 7)Elf-made wine.

Well I drink tea all the time anyway, and I've never been a big fan of red wine. So, my choices would be
1) Butterbeer
2) Gillywater (McGonagall drinks it so it must be cool!)

So am I so I guessed it. It must taste cool and refreshing like rescue drops. Pumpkin juice - yeuch. The worst thing about the HP series - the thought that the poor children sit at these delightful feasts and get nothing to drink except disgusting pumpkin juice! I agree that pumpkins are an old fairytale item but a rare berry juice would have been quite as exotic and much more delectable.

Great work, freshwater! There were too many good things to choose. But I wonder why people chose tea because everybody knows what tea tastes like! I would like to know what's the difference between elf-made wind and ordinary wine, and what exactly is Gillywater, and whether fire-whiskey tastes different from muggle whiskey... BTW didn't JKR say that Butterbeer tastes like butterscotch? Brrrrrr! Sweet beer???
