I just re-read the message on the World Crossing Page, and we have until noon, Pacific Time, to copy/archive what we need.
I don't know why that makes me feel better - it just does. Maybe I thought World Crossing would shut down at 12:01 a.m. on the 15th. And since I am in the Pacific Time zone, I could copy any last minute posts to the "Farewell to World Crossing" thread or the current Chat Thread.

I've decided I'm not going to update the Archive Update table until after that fateful time has lapsed.
I'm on Spring Break next week, so will use a day or two to at least start posting some archived stuff here. Looking forward to it!

The computer was automatically putting in the lines between posts, so as long as it was cooperating, it was worth pushing through, as having the lines will save time later. I never did figure why the computer put the lines in on some days but not on others . . . .
My eyeballs are firmly in my head, but my mouse-hand has no feeling left in it (I'm just exaggerating - a little
)
On Friday, I will add in any final posts . . . . .
You know, I don't think there is much left to copy - we done good!!!! (Sending virtual pats on the back and high fives to everyone).

Well, so much for my plan to group topics like on the old forum. 
I opened up the "Discussion Between Members" topic, and started a new topic (Remembering timrew). When I finished posting all of the messages, the new topic, Remembering timrew, wasn't nested in the "Discussion Between Members" section as I had intended, it had moved as an independent topic to the top of the Archived Threads page.
I tried again with the "Chat and Greeting Thread," and it also showed up as an independent topic at the top of the Archived Threads page.
Is there any way to create groups of topics like we had on the old forum? If not, am I able to delete the topics I created???

edited to add: OK, I figured out how to delete the Chat and Greeting Thread, since it didn't have anything in it.

Regarding your questions about how to transfer archived information and creating groups of topics like there are on the old forum, maybe John has some idea, being the technical guru that he is? LOL lady Arabella, and thanks, but not quite! And really, this is clean work, piece of cake. I have done some real archiving once, the year I was working on my history master's thesis. I was studying the old general hospital of my town in the 17th and 18th centuries but before really starting the study of the archives, I had to make an inventory of all of them, from the 15th century to the 1950s, and create some archiving device that would make finding the document you wanted easily. It took me three months just to do that, during which I breathed in more dust than Kreacher when he finally started on cleaning 12 GP, but it was fascinating. There must have been an archiving/classifying germ in all that dust that permanently mixed up my brain I'm afraid because, since then, I've never been able to resist a pile of moldy old documents. They might just contain the information you need if you search deep enough in it. So, same here... I just can't stand losing information, lol! The lack of dust and mold in the work is almost disappointing now that I think of it...

I completely understand!
I think most of what is left is in the "Votes" folder. I'm not entirely convinced we need to archive those threads, but am willing to do so.
I also thought I'd pay a visit to the Fanfiction forum - not for the stories, but for some of the discussion on that site.

Well, I was sadly and hugely mistaken - the Votes Group Section Folder has subfolders with lots and lots and lots. . .and lots . . . . . . . and lots. . . of threads. I may end up picking and choosing what looks like the most interesting.

The last one was a long one and it's funny in a way that it was the last I saved. I realized when copying it that it was the thread on which I really started posting when I joined the forum in 2004 (can't believe it was almost 7 years ago!

John, at the very least I hope you're getting a ton of money back in your taxes. LOL. Actually, what I REALLY wish is that there was some way to pay each and every one of you for all this work you've done. Maybe if you all published it in a book, like a Lex encyclopedia or something... Nah. That'd probably cause a lawsuit.
I thought I saw a table/chart done by John listing threads that had not yet been archived, and all the movie threads were on it. Is that the case, that the movie threads have not been archived? Just checking... I will be home today and may spend some (undoubtedly futile) time trying to do something with them if that is the case... Be aware that I have no idea what I'm doing... And that I totally failed and had to be rescued by Lady Arabella before...
I feel this sense of impending doom... like Prof. Trelawney has told me that my house is going to catch fire and burn to the ground in a few hours and there's nothing I can do to stop it and the remaining things in the house consist of a couple enormous sofas and wardrobes that I can't possibly lift nor fit through the doors...
