LOL. Pun intended?

LOL Of course!

Seriously, I'm trying to find him some owl treats for Christmas.

...when you are playing "Bookworm" and you try to find as many HP words as possible; "git" and "luna" were among the acceptable ones!

...when you get a wireless router at home, and your husband's first comment was "Now you can take Harry to bed!" since most of my internet time is in the evenings, and most of that is spent on HP sites!

...when you see the film again and think that it would have been even better if you had worked with Newell. He would have made it a good film and I would have made it a faithful adaptation.

...when you start wondering how you would go about trying to get that job for OotP or HBP. Hmmm... maybe I should have tried for the part of Luna, after all.

Mediwitch, you have your husband's permission?!? Way to go, girl! (**giggle** Just kidding! *smirk*)

azi - Dec 5, 2005 9:33 am (#2206 of 2984)

Woohoo, I had my first HP dream in ages!

I was a ninja/auror on the run from the Ministry of Magic because I'd killed someone. There I was running and fighting them, using all my ninja moves (like running up walls) and I ran into a train station because I was meaning to make a muggle escape by train. Unfortunately, I had 45mins to wait for the next train to the place I wanted to go and needed to avoid them until then. I managed to give them the slip by disguising myself as a muggle.

I got on a train, which turned out to be the wrong train as it didn't stop at my station (although it did go somewhere nearby, at which point I thought, 'Wait a moment, that place doesn't have a train station!'), so I decided to apparate to a station in a different place.

At this point the dream stopped being HP related as I was myself again.

Liz Mann - Dec 5, 2005 10:02 am (#2207 of 2984)

Cool, Sabby! Could I put that dream on my dreams page?

Madam Pince - Dec 5, 2005 8:31 pm (#2212 of 2984)

I had something like three HP dreams in the week before we got to go see GOF. Can you say "obsessed?" (I can't remember any of the dreams now, but I did at the time, and they were way cool.)

CatherineHermiona - Dec 6, 2005 3:12 am (#2215 of 2984)

Oh, so-so. It's in Lika, a bit souther. Why do you call Nikola Tesla "mad scientist"? You know, there is a movie about Nikola Tesla. Very interesting. Only on Croatian......

Kate

Snuffles, I tried but the bids always went to high for my taste, though I haven't renounced yet. I already have a wand, but it's just it's Snape's wand. I think of it like a treat to me for Christmas

The giant squid - Dec 6, 2005 3:14 pm (#2218 of 2984)

Why do you call Nikola Tesla "mad scientist"?--CatherineHermiona

Because he was a scientist and was believed by many to be quite insane. It's a descriptive, not a judgement--many of my colleagues think the same of me (minus the scientist part).

When you go to the local supermarket and you notice that thin, pale cashier with the greasy, black hair and the large nose and you're like, "*gasp*, it's that SNAPE guy!"

When you avoid going to the Snape guy's register because you're somehow intimidated.

When you're getting checked at the register next to the Snape guy, and even though you're a grown woman and you know this guy is just some eccentric cashier, you still regress to a 15-year-old and your inner monologue goes, "iiiiiieeeeeeeeee!!!!omigodi'marmslengthfromSNAPEGUY!!"

When you're ready to leave and you notice Snape guy is exchanging friendly banter with his co-workers and it warms your heart because Snape guy has friends and he won't freak out in 10 years and throw the owner of the supermarker off the roof.

Diagon Nilly, it isn't a bust, it's a "complete" figurine. It's this one but without the box (sorry, couldn't find a better photo) : photo

Ah, the action figure! I have one, but he's living in storage right now in a box with Promethea. I don't know if Sev likes having Promethea as a boxmate being she's a pretty commanding woman. But I'm sure Ash from Army of Darkness will come to his rescue if she starts getting too aggressive.

Uh...which brings me to: you know you're a Harry Potter/Lexicon fan when you even care about the fate of your Harry Potter action figures.

That Gentle Giant bust is niiiiice, though. I want me one for the holidays, but they're hard to find and a bit expensive at almost $50. Sev is worth it though.

oh, and one more: you know you're a Harry Potter/Lexicon fan when the Noble collection catalogue has become your favorite bathroom reading material. Holy heck to I want me that replica Hogwarts! And the wands! and the time turner! And Lucius's cane! And the sword of Gryffindor! And...

Choices - Dec 13, 2005 12:11 pm (#2241 of 2984)

I have Harry's wand and the time-turner, but I am lusting after that $300. replica of Hogwarts castle. It is gorgeous. My daughter and I have birthdays coming up in the Spring and we may go in together and buy it for ourselves. I love the Noble Collection - it is my new wish book!!

Gina - I thought of you when I opened one gift this morning - Snape's wand. It is so cool and I was thrilled to get it. I also got a beautiful piece on which to display it - a lightening bolt shaped wooden base with mirror top, etched with "Harry Potter" and with two little arms that hold up the wand. It is so neat!! I look at it and think...."This is the wand he used to kill Dumbledore. But why?" If only we knew the answer to that one!!

...when your favourite present is a Ron Weasley wand. Smile

...when you keep getting the wand out just to hold it and wave it around absently while watching TV.

Choices - Dec 25, 2005 7:02 pm (#2285 of 2984)

I can relate Liz. I keep thinking...."What if I waved this wand, said a spell and it worked?" Oh well, I can dream can't I? LOL

Finn BV - Dec 25, 2005 8:24 pm (#2286 of 2984)

Of course! We all can! I've been dying to get the wand that really lights up when you wave it. Impress my non-HP friends!!

… when you feel like it was fate when you sat down to watch a rerun of Ellen with your grandma and it's the one where she shows the "exclusive" clip of Ron and his dress robes.

… when you automatically compare Mr. Bingley of the latest Pride and Prejudice to Rupert Grint. (Finn BV, "# Discussions about the Cast of any HP movie." #1884, 25 Dec 2005 6:00 pm)

. . . when one of your coworkers gives you FB and QTA!!!

. . . when you are discussing presents for your cousins with your mother, and all but one is getting socks along with a larger present, and you suggest writing out a card (in green ink, of course) for the sockless cousin with Dumbledore's SS quote about people insisting on giving him books instead of socks.

. . . when you are able to make said card even more cool by cutting out bits of HP wrapping paper to decorate it. It is really cool paper too. Non-movie Harry, Ron, Hermione, Hedwig, Bertie Botts, and SOCKS!

...When driving down a street and you see a sign that says "DRACO'S AUTO REPAIR" an get all excited. Then you do a double take and realize the name is Drago, and are extremely bummed...

septentrion - Dec 29, 2005 8:15 am (#2290 of 2984)

well, Tazzygirl, if it helps, Draco has been translated in Drago in French, so that auto repair isn't so far from the mark.

Elfcat - Dec 29, 2005 12:55 pm (#2291 of 2984)

...when it was your best friend, not you, who recieved QTA, FB, AND a GoF poster for christmas and you think somebody got their wires crossed.

...when you spend the next 20 minutes after that reading QTA

...when you patiently explain to your other friend that it's a poster, not a lightsaber, so stop hitting me with it already!

...when you were actually more concerned about the condition of the poster than being hit

Tazzygirl - Dec 29, 2005 1:36 pm (#2292 of 2984)

Septentrion- that makes me feel so much better!

.....when browsing in a yarn store you come upon a sample scarf, about 85 in. long and 24 in. wide, with 3 large holes evenly spaced along the length, and you figure it must be... ...a weird ponch with, uhm, armholes? ...or a weird shawl that fits over your head 3 times so as to not fall off? ...or...a muffler for Fluffy! Yep, obviously knitted by an obsessed HP fan!

Madam Pince - Jan 1, 2006 10:01 am (#2294 of 2984)

I've seen scarves like that that you're supposed to thread one end through the holes so it stays on, but I don't know why there'd be three. Surely it wouldn't need to be adjustable like a belt? Nah, I like the Fluffy explanation better!

...When you're talking to a fellow HP fanatic online and start having a wizards duel with them.

...When you are surprised said fan did not know what Protego did.

...When you start to wonder if you were actually wrong that the spell existed and had got it from another book so you have to check the Lexicon to make sure. Phew, was right!

...When watching the tv and you see that in Malaysia they have a building called The Patronus Towers!!!. I said out loud "Well that's one place no Dementor will be working!!" and your husband gives you THAT look!!!

... when you want your friends to do at least something potterish and you give them HP & GoF PC game and one friend, usually the strongest enemy of HP is hooked (but still doesn't want to read the books ).

... when one friend of your friend says to you that she read whole 6th book and then says she came to part where they took horcrux and you say: "Oh, you still don't know a half of things!". I mean, it is almost the end of book in pages, but in action...

... when you're really delighted to hear that same friend says she is going home to read the rest.

...when some kids who play in the school's playground have a game in which they are animals and you ask them what they're supposed to be. When one of them says she is a dragon and you ask her "what breed?".

...when the girl looks at you with eyes like saucers saying she doesn't know so you ask her about the dragon's colour.

...when she answers "green" and you say "you're a Common Welsh Green then!" and she finds that great! That was too funny!
