Well, it’s been more than 24 hours since the last post, so here are the results! I was really picky on #9, otherwise it would have been hard to score. , but no points off for spelling, so if you were close you got it. Also, for #2 and 4, I gave half credit if you got half of the name right but missed the other half.
1. What was Uncle Vernon’s solution to the Spanish baggage-handler’s strike mentioned on the news?” Give ‘em a life-long siesta, I would,” snarled Uncle Vernon. (OoP, ch. 1) Firing all of them got you full credit.
2. Who sends letter to Harry from the Improper Use of Magic Office? Mafalda Hopkirk (OoP, ch. 2)
3. What did both of Harry’s visitor’s badges from the Ministry of Magic read? Harry Potter, Disciplinary Hearing; Harry Potter, Rescue Mission (OoP ch. 7; 34)

5. Who was the first person to sign Hermione’s list for the DA, agreeing not to tell Umbridge what they were doing? Fred Weasley (OoP, ch. 16)
6. Who conducted the Slytherins as they sang “Weasley Is Our King” for the first time? Pansy Parkinson (OoP, ch. 19)

Well, looks like I have no choice.
The questions are from my all-time favourite - PoA.
1. Name the witch that enjoyed being burnt again and again. How many times did she allow herself to be caught? (1 point)
2. What were the dates of Buckbeak's hearing and the following appeal? (1 point)
3. During the Quidditch game between Slytherin and Gryffindor, quite a few penalties were awarded. Can you remember at least two incidents that led to those penalties? (You have to be exact to get half a point for each, but there are a lot more than two, so more than that will be bonus points)
4. How did the Marauder's Map insult Snape? (2 points)
5. Name three creatures taught by Lupin in the DADA lessons. (1 point)
6. What did Ron and Harry see in each other's teacup? (2 points)

So, the answers!
1. Name the witch that enjoyed being burnt again and again. How many times did she allow herself to be caught? (1 point) Wendelin the Weird, no less than 47 times.
2. What were the dates of Buckbeak's hearing and the following appeal? (1 point) The hearing was on April 20, the appeal - June 6th. I gave every month and every date 1/4 of a point.
3. During the Quidditch game between Slytherin and Gryffindor, quite a few penalties were awarded. Can you remember at least two incidents that led to those penalties? (You have to be exact to get half a point for each, but there are a lot more than two, so more than that will be bonus points ) A few of them are: Flint collided with Angelina out of fury; Fred chucked his club at the back of Flint's head; Montague swerved in front of Katie and got hold of her head; Malfoy got hold of Harry's broom to prevent him from catching the snitch; and at least 3 more that I saw and some of you mentioned.
4. How did the Marauder's Map insult Snape? (2 points)
"Mr. Moony presents his compliments to Professor Snape, and begs him to keep his abnormally large nose out of other people's business."
"Mr. Prongs agrees with Mr. Moony and would like to add that Professor Snape is an ugly git."
"Mr. Padfoot would like to register his astonishment that an idiot like that ever became a professor."
"Mr. Wormtail bids Professor Snape good day, and advises him to wash his hair, the slimeball."
A detail from each one was enough to get 1/2 a point, even if you didn't mention who said it.
5. Name three creatures taught by Lupin in the DADA lessons. (1 point) Hinkypunks, Kappas, Grindylows, Boggarts, Redcaps
6. What did Ron and Harry see in each other's teacup? (2 points)Harry saw a wonky sort of cross, which meant suffering, and a sun, which meant great happiness. Ron saw a blob like a bowler hat (which he though meant working for the Ministry, and which looked like an acorn when you hold the cup the other way) and an animal - a hippo or a sheep (Trelawney said it was the Grim). I gave 1/2 a point for each of the four details (cross, sun, bowler hat, animal) or their meaning.
How many Muggles and how many wizards did Sirius Black murder with a single curse? (1 point) None at all, it was Pettigrew who killed the Muggles (and there were no wizards dead). Yes, it was a tricky question (but the answer "None" was enough to get the point)
8. What were Parvati's, Seamus's and Dean's Boggarts? (1 point) Parvati - a mummy, Seamus - a Banshee, Dean - a severed hand. The snake is movie contamination
Elanor wins with 9 1/4 points!!

**OUCH!!** I fell too Puck!! And thanks Finn (edit: and Ginny!)! I've been re-reading PoA lately but, when answering the questions, I had the feeling I should have remembered more than what I posted, LOL!
Ok, so here is my first attempt at Trivia questions (I think...) so I hope they've not been asked too many times in the past, please forgive me if they've been!
Questions:
1) What are the 3 Ds and can you name them?
2) Name two alchemists mentioned in the series who really existed (there are more than two, extra points if you name more than two of them).
3) What is Golpalott's Third Law? Can your inner Hermione recite it by heart?
4) In CoS, what did Neville buy to try and protect him from the Heir of Slytherin's attacks?
5) What was the subject of the essay Harry had to write for Potions during the summer before his third year at Hogwarts?
6) Name as many objects as you can that Harry noticed being in the RoR when he hid his Potions book in it in the HBP.
7) According to Luna, what is Gurdyroot excellent for?
8) What did Harry receive for Christmas in CoS (extra points if you tell who gave him what).
Good luck

Too late to edit! OK, everybody, get out your thinking caps! These are quotes from characters; any character is fair game, and they come from the first three books. I've tried to mix up some easier ones with some more challenging ones. Have fun!

2. "THAT RUDDY OWL!"
3. "D'you think we've got nothing better to do in Potions than listen to Snape?"
4. "Let me introduce my assistant, Professor Snape."
5. "Get back, you scurvy braggart! Back, you rogue!"
6. "This, Harry, is the secret of our success."
7. "Mars is bright tonight."
8. "That was quite some Patronus."
9. "I wonder why Professor Lupin's frightened of Crystal balls?"
10. "Are you sure that’s a real spell? Well, it’s not very good, is it?"

I've put my McGonagall glasses on and been ruthless when it came to spelling **evil grin** and counted 1 point for a good and correctly spelled answer (accepted opal-eyed as correct though), 0.5 if the spelling wasn't completely correct but counted no point if the answer was close but phonetically wrong (as "Barnabus" for example).
Here are the answers:
1 - Antipodean Opaleye
2 - Sir Patrick Delaney- Podmore
3 - Flesh - eating slugs
4 - Barnabas the Barmy
5 - Blast-Ended Skrewt (or Skrewts)
6 - Gregory the Smarmy
7 - Rupert ' Axebanger ' Brookstanton (Was one of the wizards Hermione thought of when searching for RAB at the end of the HBP)
8 - Rosalind Antigone Bungs (another "RAB" found by Hermione)
9 - Sir Nicholas de Mimsy - Porpington
10 - Crumpled-Horned Snorkack
So, congratulations to the winners Nathan and Mediwitch!

Wow, there were lots of players in this round, and as Phelim Mcintyre predicted, some very high scores - you all really know the last three books! I hope I got everyone's answers. Here are the answers:
1. "I've been looking forward to a chat with old Snape." "fake" Mad-Eye Moody [If you identified the speaker as Moody, you earned full credit. If you identified the speaker as Barty Crouch Jr. disguised as Moody (or "ake" Moody) you got an extra half a point.]
2. "Oh, you won’t need ink." Dolores Umbridge
3. "I might have -er- moved on to bigger and better things." Draco Malfoy
4. "We've been hearing explosions out of their room for ages, but we never thought they were actually making things." Ginny Weasley
5. "What have you been doing to that book you depraved boy?" Madam Pince
6. "He left! Left to see someone about a batch of cauldrons that fell off the back of a broom!" Mrs. Figg
7. "This lot keep babbling in Gobbledegook, and I only know one word of Gobbledegook." Ludo Bagman
8. "You’re a r-really good teacher, you know. I’ve never been able to Stun anything before." Cho Chang
9. "Winky is getting through six bottles a day now." Dobby
10. "If you had actually read the article in question, Mr. Finnegan, you would have known that the so-called Inferius was nothing but a smelly sneak-thief by the name of Mundungus Fletcher." Severus Snape
Congratulations, Phelim!

On the Thursday there was a phone call asking my dad to go to see the specialist the next day. Now on Tuesday he is having an endoscope examination. So I'm feeling a bit fragile.
Here though are the answers that I have for the first ten questions. I will post the answer to the bonus question after I have checked everyone's results (I will explain why then).

Thanks for playing "Which Wand" HP-Related Trivia! You all did a great job - some of those were a bit tricky. I used information only from the books. Here are the results:
1. Willow, 14", unicorn tail hair: Ron. This was the new wand he got in PoA.
2. Ash, 12.25", unicorn hair tail: Cedric.
3. Oak, 16": Hagrid. (Who else, at 16"?)
4. Cherry, unicorn hair: Neville. This was his new wand in HBP.

6. Willow, 10.25": Lily.
7. Hornbeam, 10.25", dragon heartstring: Viktor Krum.
8. Rosewood, 9.5": Fleur Delacour. OK, so I left off the Veela hair core, but I figured that would be a dead give-away!
9. Mahogany, 11": James.
10. Yew, 13.5", phoenix feather: Voldemort.
Congratulations to Nathan and Audrey!

I've tried posting the following on Saturday, and I tried posting it on Sunday, but my computer must have something against me. So, *crossing fingers*:
Yeah! That was a pleasant surprise
Anyway, new questions:
The following quotes are referring to different characters of the books. Can you name them?
Note: The answer is not the person who said the words, but the person about whom the words are said.
1. "[...] didn't need an excuse to go over to the Dark Side."
2. "Did you see his face, the great lump?"
3. [...] made Dudley Dursley look like a kind, thoughtful, and sensitive boy.
4. "You don't want to start any trouble or your Mommy'll have to come and take you away from school."
5. "I've noticed him sneaking around a lot lately. And I bet I know what he's up to. He thinks he's going to catch Slytherin's heir single-handed."
6. "He is clearly unfit to draw up our laws and [...]"
7. [...] went scurrying in after him, crouching at the hem of his cloak, a look of abject terror on his face.
8. "I bet you're not dangerous at all, are you?"
9. "I'm afraid he won't be a teacher much longer [...]"
10. "You're not telling me someone's asked that to the ball?"
Bonus Point: What do these quotes have in common?
Edit: Whew, finally

So, the long anticipated (yeah, right) answers:
1. "[...] didn't need an excuse to go over to the Dark Side." Lucius Malfoy
2. "Did you see his face, the great lump?" Neville Longbottom
3. [...] made Dudley Dursley look like a kind, thoughtful, and sensitive boy. Draco Malfoy
4. "You don't want to start any trouble or your Mommy'll have to come and take you away from school." Ron Weasley
5. "I've noticed him sneaking around a lot lately. And I bet I know what he's up to. He thinks he's going to catch Slytherin's heir single-handed." Percy Weasley
6. "He is clearly unfit to draw up our laws and [...]" Arthur Weasley
7. [...] went scurrying in after him, crouching at the hem of his cloak, a look of abject terror on his face. Dobby
8. "I bet you're not dangerous at all, are you?" Buckbeak
9. "I'm afraid he won't be a teacher much longer [...]" Hagrid
10. "You're not telling me someone's asked that to the ball?" Hermione Granger
Bonus Point: What do these quotes have in common? They are all Malfoy-related - either they are about one of the Malfoys, or said by one of the Malfoys. And Dobby was the Malfoys' elf, also the quote about him involves Malfoy Sr. Originally, I thought I'll just find one quote for some of the main characters. But when I started looking for quotes, and wanted to find one about Draco, somehow everything I could find was said by him. So I decided to make it Malfoy-centered.
Well done, everybody!

I have finally found the time to post answers. Thanks for the patience, understanding and hugs. My father hasn't died yet but we are just waiting for the phone call.
1) What didn't Harry eat during the main/first course of the meal at the Welcoming Feast? Mint Humbugs
2) What type of sundae did Harry buy from Fortescue's while staying at the Leaky Cauldron? Coconut Sundae
3) What did squash in his hand while angry with Malfoy on the Hogwarts Express? Cauldron Cake
4) Gilderoy's perfect Christmas present other than world peace is? Nothing (He wanted world peace and a bottle of Odgen's Old Firewhisky as a Birthday Present). But as I made the mistake I will give a mark to those who said Odgen's Old Firewhisky
5) What dish received the reply "Bless You"? Bouillabaise
6) What did Dumbledore choose to eat at the Yule Ball? Pork Chops
7) Name a password to Dumbledore's Office. Acid Pops, Fizzing Whizbees, Cockroach Cluster, Lemon Drops (used in US Chamber of Secrets) or Sherbert Lemon (used in UK Chamber of Secrets)
8) Professor Flitwick's choice of drink is? Cherry Syrup and Soda with ice and umbrella.
9) What did Harry and Ron roast over the Common room fire one Christmas? Crumpets and marshmallows (1/2 point given for saying either of these or Hagrid's fudge)
10) What type of sandwich does Ron not like? Corn Beef
Well done Mediwitch. Hope I didn't miss anyone off.
