Re: 20 Questions (Vol. VI)
It occurs during the DADA O.W.L. exam, it isn't something Harry does and it isn't associated with Umbridge, it's not magical, it can be touched, it's small enough to be held, it belongs to Hogwarts, but is associated with someone in particular...........I am totally stumped! Although I don't think Professor Tofty belongs to Hogwarts, I am going to guess........
28. Is it Professor Tofty clapping his hands after Harry performs a patronus charm?

Re: 20 Questions (Vol. VI)
Now, I would have considered that an action rather than a thing ... but it's as good as anything I can think of, other than ...
29. The "nasty smile" on Umbridge's face, as she looked on from the doorway. Although, technically, since both Tofty and Umbridge are magical, wouldn't anything that is a part of them be magical, as well? **sigh**
I have to leave shortly to have my teeth cleaned, and since it's been about 18 months (no scolding, please) since my last cleaning, there will probably be lots of extra scraping and poking. I know ... my own fault. At least I brush and floss a couple of times a day ...

Re: 20 Questions (Vol. VI)
I would have guessed the "nasty smile" of Umbridge's, but question 18 says it's not associated with Umbridge.
A clap is a thing, but clapping is an action......or is it?

Hint: I'm afraid you are studying the wrong passage in the book... It might be worth taking a second look at my answer to Q15. BTW, the answer to the puzzle is undoubtedly a tangible thing.
