Verity, because this sentence started with "since", I don't think the "so" is unnecessary. If you agree, you might want to delete that word and do six words next time. Or not.

that might be worth investigating is
How's that for stalling? I'm running out of ideas for potential members of the League. We might have to start inventing some.
Thanks for picking up that superfluous 'so' Shepherdess. I have now removed it and used 6 words here.

Eldred Worple. He's a fraud
Some more backbiting against another rival author? Worple wrote Blood Brothers: My Life Amongst the Vampires and its topic sounds very similar to that of Lockhart's Voyages with Vampires.

- Spoiler:
- Besides writers, the League may have some members who are in fact Death Eaters, but claim to have been Imperiused during the first war. Some of them may have entered the League after Voldemort's downfall as proof of their "true allegiance" (Avery, Nott, Yaxley, for example).
Even Ludo Bagman may have joined the League for similar reasons, and I suppose Barty Crouch Sr. is a member, but I don't think Lockhart would risk attacking Ministry people - he will probably use them as useful connections instead.

Hi Julia! I've just got home from a 13 hour day! We are hosting a major academic tournament at school this weekend so I've been busy, busy busy. Although I did manage to check in earlier during one of the pockets of down time. It was a very exciting day, and everything went to plan so far, which is a big relief. One more day tomorrow.

It was another very long but very exciting day. I'll write more later, but I'm just exhausted now and I need to eat. I'll read the last story too.

Thanks for posting the last story Julia. It was great to read it all through again in one go. It was a pretty epic story and I think it was a great achievement that we did that with just the two of us. Of course, with any story of this length, when you read it back you realise it could probably have done with a little bit more description, but when there are only two people posting it can feel like the story is moving really slowly, so description gets left out. However, I really liked it. I liked the explanation of how Sirius acquired Pigwidgeon, and the patronus message from Lupin was a nice touch. It was bittersweet knowing that by the time Joanne gets her Hogwarts letter, Sirius (Paddy) will no longer be with us.

a handful of people had
I enjoyed taking part in writing an 'epic' story. There are some hiccups in the plot, for example at one point 'Pig' seems to "know" that they are talking about him, when in fact they are talking about Mr Muffin (I guess we were talking about 'Pig'); and while we indicate that Joanne is a Muggle-born witch to explain how she gets through the protective charms cast by Sirius, it is left unexplained how her friends are able to go to the barn later. Yet, the story has a beginning and an ending as well as a plot, and it is coherent enough for a story written with a large lapse of time between two half-sentences sometimes. I like the adventurous elements as well as the fact that Sirius gets a bit of comfort and friendship on the way, and I absolutely agree with you about the bittersweet part.
I've just read your account of the tournament. It does sound like a lot of work and a lot of enjoyment, too. Congratulations to your son, to all your students and to you! Enjoy your success!

Technically, we only said Pig/Owl thought they were talking about him, not that they actually were!
