O-Wing, Fredex, and Isis.

Although actually, now that the suggestion thread has closed (naturally ) I have thought of what I'd probably really use: Glimfeather. Copying from C.S. Lewis' Narnian owl...

I am soooo not creative...

Oh, Elanor, I'm sorry! My post-age-50/menopausal eyes are often "mis-reading" things lately. I'm so sorry about that mistake!

No problem Freshwater! I do that all the time at school when reading the kids' work but I guess it is their way of being sure I get more white hairs every day, a fair game all in all.

Zephyr, being a west wind, I'd be a little worried about receiving timely replies from the east.
I also like the name of the owl in Winnie-the-Pooh. It was named Owl, except that Owl writes his own name Wol. (probably a case of dysgraphia)

Zephyr, being a west wind, I'd be a little worried about receiving timely replies from the east. ~ Chemyst

As this owl would be a magical one, I'm sure it would be equipped to deal with that quite satisfactorily.

So...what's the name for an east wind? Maybe you could buy twin owls and name them Zephyr and ________?

Euros. Boring name. Zephir is much nicer. Boreas is also quite pretty. Zephir and Boreas for a pair of owls, that would be cute. But maybe a little pretentious.

Maybe Zephyr and Boreas could be owned by Percy and Audrey?

Euros...nah, sounds like he's in it for the money. Sorry!

If you want a wind name, how about Mistral ... or Mariah? There's a song from Paint Your Wagon--They Call the Wind Mariah. I guess that would be for an American owl! The Mistral is a big north wind that blows through France.

Mistral! That's beautiful! Zephir and Mistral.

**Beaming with pride** I am so glad so many of you like my owl name, Fred-X. We have a big barn owl statue (named Errol) sitting on top of our curio cabinet (filled with all our HP related stuff). My ex-hubby loves Errol, so for Christmas we got him one just like it and he is going to name him Fred-X. He thinks it is a very cool name for a post owl. :-)

(We have a Santa hat for Errol and he wears it throughout the Christmas season and looks very festive. He loves Christmas, but doesn't give a hoot the rest of the year. LOL)

Choices, you just crack me up! I'm sure that many of us got a good laugh from "Fred-X"....it's a fun tribute to Fred Weasley, and one that he would likely appreciate , as well as a clever play on "Fed-Ex".
