Quibbler. He wrote the article himself.
Update: So 2 out of 6 characters are present in the story — Ginny and Luna — and Lockhart has been mentioned, but is not yet present.
For those already registered on Pottermore during this extended Beta testing period, wizard's duel has finally reopened today! Even though there is no mention of it on the Pottermore Insider blog.
But I will not be dueling until tomorrow, as I need to practice using a mouse for my Macbook laptop. I found the touchpad a bit wanting in terms of speed. For those not registered on Pottermore yet, there is STILL no word on when the site will be open to the public. It was supposed to be October, originally, and now, 2012 is only just over 18 days away. Get a move on, Pottermore!.

Well, if Ginny wanted to borrow Hedwig I can't see her asking Harry personally. She's still too much in awe of him for that. Plus, Harry can't appear in our story. But she could ask Ron to ask Harry.
I might just have to try out the duelling, but I'll definitely need to practise first. It took me ages to get those the first time, during the chapters.

Great Hall at the same time ... as Ron?
Re: Pottermore (in a spoiler box just to save space)
- Spoiler:
- Mona, that's a good question. Pottermore is being tight-lipped about it.
Verity, I decided to duel today after all. The Eagles in the Facebook Ravenclaw Common Room encouraged me to give it a go, since you don't lose points for losing a duel. And one Eagle suggested watching videos on youtube, which helped. And when I opened my duel icon, I saw that Kay, from our forum here, had challenged me to a duel. (Which I lost, twice.) Full-Body Bind is the best spell to try in a challenge, as it has the strongest potency rate, and will beat other spell, if you are pretty good at it, that is.
So when you challenge someone from another house to a duel (you don't need to be friends with this person... it is completely random), you pick the spell you want to cast, not knowing which spell the other person will cast, then cast the spell, and await the results. If your score is higher than your opponent's you win, obviously. But this is the thing, you do not get matched with someone who has picked the same level of potency spell as you, so even if you cast a spell perfectly, like Incendio, its highest potency (100, for example) is less than an imperfectly cast Full Body Bind (120), and the Full Body Bind caster wins. Doesn't seem fair to me, and I, and others, have sent Pottermore an email saying that.
So now, most people have cottoned on that everyone is casting Full Body Bind, so now there are less "slaughter" games, lol, and more draws. The highest score for Full Body Bind is 144, and I have got as high as 142 once, and over 140 a few other times. But not when I played Kay. Shucks. I am only challenging Hufflepuffs and Gryffindors, since Slytherin is ahead of Ravenclaw. I don't want to help the Green and Silver get ahead with my help, do I?
I'm hoping that Beta ends soon. Maybe it will be out with the old and in with the new? A new and improved Pottermore open to the public in 2012? *fingers crossed*

Well, he doesn't have to have too much interaction with Luna, as Ginny's the one who wants to borrow Hedwig, but you're right Julia, it's possible Ron had known of Luna before fifth year.
To be honest Mona, I haven't spent a lot of time on Pottermore since I finished going through the chapters of the first book. There hasn't been a lot to do, except brew potions and I just didn't have the patience for that - waiting around for 80 minutes to see if your potion was going to work and not get ruined by some website glitch or other. And although there is a comment feature in the Great Hall and the Common Rooms, it's impossible to have an actual conversation so I don't get any kind of community feel on there at all.

- Spoiler:
- Will the girls find out why Ron is in a bad mood? Or is the story going to be about the homework? Here is another plot idea (feel free to ignore it though): What if the girls find something that Lockhart has lost - such as the peacock quill or a recognizable piece of clothing or jewellery - and they decide to return it to him - and maybe they inadvertently overhear something perhaps between Lockhart and Snape that attracts their attention and/or gets them in trouble?

Julia, it sounds like a good plot. Let's see how it goes.

On Pottermore, after going through the chapters a few times, admittedly, there was not much to do when dueling was down and potions was full of glitches. But now, wizard dueling is back up and is doing a brisk business and potion brewing times are much shorter and there are hardly any glitches. I have seen screen shots of blank leader boards for wizard's chess and Quidditch, which makes me think they will be unveiled in Book 2. And a chocolate frog card leader board as well. So at least 3 more activities coming up.
I agree, Verity, about the comment thread in the Great Hall. It's very hard to have any semblance of a chat there, with role playing also happening at the same time. But somehow, in the Ravenclaw common room, with lots of like-minded and interesting people, with no role-playing going on, over time, I definitely feel a sense of community with my fellow Eagles. Maybe it has something to do with the close cup race between Ravenclaw and Slytherin; Eagles are helping each other out so much with advice, ingredients, etc. More seasoned folks are always quick to welcome newer students and show them the ropes, so to speak. I suppose the communication system available on Pottermore takes a little getting used to, but I feel that the site has great potential for building an interactive global community of HP fans, and I am glad that I got the chance to be a Beta user.

Update: So 3 out of 6 characters are present in the story — Ginny, Luna, and Ron — and Lockhart has been mentioned, but is not yet present.

sank, and she sighed.
"Why do Ron speaking.
Just to get a sense of when in the CoS year this story is set... if Ginny is wondering where Harry and Hermione are, then this story must be happening after Halloween, right? Since the trio wasn't really a firm trio until after the troll incident in the bathroom; I'm remembering the quote at the end of that chapter about how one couldn't help being friends with someone after knocking down a 10 or 12? foot troll.
In any case, Ginny's also got Tom's diary, and she becomes more obsessed with/by it as CoS goes on, so I'm guessing this story is taking place around November to before Christmas? Does that sound right?
Not sure i'll be doing any updates for this story, as it's just the same people playing. The updates were a way to try to get new Five Worders up-to-date, but there hasn't been a new Five Worder joining the ranks in ages. So that'll be one less thing to do!
