"Lucky for me too," Belladonna
For anyone who's interested, here's some examples of the 50 word stories. I've put them in spoiler boxes so you don't have to read them if you don't want to. These were written by students in years 4, 5 and 6, which is the equivalent of U.S. grades 3, 4 and 5. Titles don't count in the word count.

- Spoiler:
- STOLEN UNDER THE MOON
“Stop! I’ll shoot!” shouted the guard. Moonlight slashed across his face, a silver scar, the thief froze. Throwing his loot across his shoulder like a winter coat, he leaped out the window, agile as a bat. The petrified guard bellowed an alarm. The thief raced away into the black night.
Stress
Oh, I can do this. This is easy. Just a 50 word story isn’t much.
Ok, I’ve started typing. Only 20 words written. 24, 25. Half way there!
30 minutes. That’s so long! Running, running out of words! What am I gonna do?
You decide what happens. I can’t write!
Among the Stars
I lay among the stars. War is hurtful, war is mean. Over the years, I’ve seen many innocent young men run towards Death. Now it’s my turn. Soon Death would be standing over me, handing me over to the conveyer-belt of eternity. I have to go forwards, can’t look back.
TIGER LIFE
As the morning sun peeks through the trees in the jungle, a tiger gives a yawn and wakes up. He is hungry. Stealthily, the tiger creeps out his den and begins to follow an invisible trail. Soon, he glimpses a wild boar. He pounces. Later he will be enjoying meat!!!!
The End
Sunlight pelted down as I woke. It was a wonderful day as usual. Everything looked the same as it was yesterday, but still, something felt wrong inside. As I climbed out of my comfy bed, I gently and silently closed my eyes.
And that was the end of my life.

Wow, I never realised how short a 50 word story was until I saw the examples! The kids have managed very well indeed.

Perhaps they do manage to find something that is even more fun than the Cheese Festival. By the way, it is still Horace's birthday, isn't it?

could go boating in Vivary ... Park
I always had fun doing that, when I was in my teens and 20's, in the company of a special someone.
(I almost had Sluggy suggesting taking Donna on a shopping spree, with the 500 Galleons, but I opted for something different.)
There is a park in Taunton called Vivary Park. Perhaps boating is a pastime for adult wizards and witches, and not just a means of transport for 1st years from Hogsmeade to Hogwarts castle? Or maybe Sluggy just wanted to give this mostly Muggle activity a whirl. And if it's a lovely day in whichever season this is, perhaps they can partake of the park's other attractions.
Yes, though we started this story a month and a half ago, it is still the same morning of Sluggy's 24th birthday. Does Donna remember that, from their schooldays? Maybe he let's it slip to her? And they have a nice cake somewhere? Maybe in a nice local teashop, much like Madam Puddifoot's? Or maybe they Disapparate from Taunton and Apparate back to Hogsmeade for a bit of cake? Oh, the possibilities are endless!
