*Perhaps we'll be using all the remaining posts after all? We shall see.
I better do some updating of posting numbers. As this story is nearly finished, I will try to have it up by the start of the weekend, and the next story starter could start thinking about how to begin the next story, where we will go back to five words at a time.
EDIT: Verity currently has the most posts, and now that it's getting late in the day, or in the wee hours of Tuesday morning, I don't think there'll be much posting for several more hours. So, Verity, I think it would be safe to say that you are starting our next story.

Story 143
It was a boring, uneventful day.
I thought a couple of lines more - Dear diary sounds more like a beginning.
- Spoiler:
- something about not seeing Harry at all?

Oh yes, absolutely! Was just testing it out to see if it could possibly work in terms of Verity's earlier suggestion: to show that Ginny was writing in the diary, and not what she was writing, to provide a little note of intrigue for the ending. But a couple more lines sounds good to me! And we've still got the posts to do it.Mona wrote:I thought a couple of lines more - Dear diary sounds more like a beginning.

his autograph instead of Professor Lockhart's.
Works for me, Julia.
Now, I wonder if Tom's diary does or 'says' a little something, or the narrator hints at a little something about its powers, as a way to bring our story to a close in the next few posts? Since the story of how Tom's diary draws Ginny in little by little over the course of this year is such a big tale, we certainly couldn't do it any sort of justice in the posts we have left.

She looked at the diary's worn cover, then opened to a blank page and started writing.
So I used 7 words to compensate for the removed 'As'. Try as I might, I couldn't figure out a way to make the meaning of my post complete with 7 words, and had to leave 'eyes' out. ('Ginny yawned, closing her eyes' or 'Ginny closed her eyes, yawning' just didn't sound right to me.) I imagine the next post will be the last, or the the one after that.

Thanks for catching that, Julia. I will revise the sentence to read:Julia H. wrote:A little while ago, we wrote this sentence:

Edit: PAH, it sounds like an ending to me.
- Spoiler:
- I think in her dream, reality may get mixed with fantasy and Hedwig may bring her something from Harry rather than from Luna's father.

Story #143
I was in too minds about whether to post or not, but I just wanted to say that I agreed that PAH's post made a good ending. A nice little hint of mystery at the end after all.
EDIT: Thanks for your comments, Julia and Verity! Okay, so I will make it official. Story #143 is F I N I S H E D! I will try to post the finished story on my Saturday morning. As usual, once a story ends, the thread will be locked until the official story and stats are posted.
Check this post again tomorrow to see who will be starting the story. Verity has the most posts, and is passing on the story starting rights to the next person, who at last count, was me. But I am also passing on my turn to the next person, which is going to be either Mona or Julia. You were both tied last time I checked. Stay tuned! ~ Potteraholic

Story #143
In order to conserve the amount of posts this thread can hold, I am inserting the contents of the previous post into this one:
Potteraholic on Thu Jan 12, 2012 12:12 pm - I had some time now, so I updated the number of posts that were posted and guess what? There is still a tie for 3rd place between Julia and Mona, with 68 posts apiece. So you two will need to decide amongst yourselves who will start the next story. Since you both have Mod status, to conserve posts, can you edit this post to either communicate with each other about it, or, if you decide to communicate through email or this forum's private message system, edit in your final decision? Thanks!

Hmmm.... No response to my previous post, which I posted separately so that it would show up as a new post on the Home page, with a little red icon next to it, making it easier to notice. I will send PM messages and emails now to Julia and Mona. I'll be posting Story #143 some time in the next few hours, and if the next story, #144, hasn't been started by the time I check tomorrow morning (Sunday), to keep things going, I will start it.
PAH, I'm happy to let Julia start it (haven't got any ideas), but I don't know if she'll see this in time, so I guess you'd better start it to simplyfy things. ~ Mona
