Thanks for your post-story comments, Verity and Mona. Mona, can you send me the compiled info. every 2 to 3 pages? That'll help me get this story up faster when it is finished.
Seeing the 'Hagrid-speak' earlier, it made me think that I should check if any changes are needed in the dialogue he spoke earlier in the story. Maybe a 'you' or two will need revision.
A fellow Ravenclaw in a Pottermore Facebook group I belong to was talking about the Umbridge-type Headteacher at his daughter's school, which reminded me of our most recent finished story. So I gave him the link and he had great things to say about "Cross Examinations". I can't access FB at school - it's blocked - so I will post his review when I get home later. It'll be one more review for the post-story comments post.
POSTS/WORDS UPDATE: 168/840.

and should not be trifled
Thanks Verity. I'm finding, upon my return from my leave, as the most senior member of staff on my grade team, with 3 new teachers, there's lots to do at school these days! Then there are other Potter pursuits, and then still other pursuits as well.
I don't know about that many other people reading our stories, but here's what MagicMidnight, a Ravenclaw on Pottermore, thought about 'Cross Examinations' (via a Facebook private message):
"I like the story very much, I could not easily tell [or tell at all at times] where one person started and the other stopped, without counting.
I thought it was humorous and at times very much in the JKR style. I liked the way Griselda stood up to Umbridge. All in all it could have been an extract from a Harry Potter book"
So while the process of writing this story may have been long, outsiders can't tell that it was from the finished story. At least not MagicMidnight.

Verity and Julia H., I will inform MagicMidnight of your appreciation of his review. Maybe that'll entice him to review this story when it's done. I've asked him to consider joining in, but he'd prefer to lurk for a bit. Alas, earwax!
Julia, did you have any thoughts about our previous story?

Is anything else going to happen before Dumbledore makes his appearance in the story? Will Hagrid have a chance to do something that wins Firenze's appreciation?
I've managed to read the previous story at last. It starts in a funny way (it was fun to read those answers!) but ends on a sinister tone. I think it could be a good beginning for a longer story, LOL. We should probably look at it as a "missing excerpt" from OotP. As we were writing, we didn't really know where we wanted to go with the story or what kind of story we were writing (I know that's the point about Five Words!) and we did well for that. I'm very glad that it has been read and reviewed by an independent reader!
